defending the Pass

Does anyone find that at times when pass are thrown on a rope for the Deep ball its hard to defend? What are some methods that some of you have notice that works to defend that?I Played the number cat in this game which I he's not all that but all his passes were rope I learned some things from him but at the sametime I only learned that what he does is bogus too. I would like to hear from some of you guys about this and how to defend it.
