I would love to see a few things in '06:

1) When you call a timeout, you get a timeout. It would be nice to have more than just the time on the play clock after calling a TO. Then, if I pick a play before the TO is finished, then the play clock starts as I walk out on to the field.

2) A wind meter on the "choose a play" screen. When it is close to the quarter break, sometimes I need to determine if I will rush to get yards to kick a FG while I have the wind at my back, or chew clock to get it out of my face.

3) In franchise mode, I would love to see NFL expansion worked in somehow.

4) It would be nice to have a cut-off for the salary cap. If I end up with negative cap room, and I want to re-negotiate a few player's contracts to give me some wiggle room, I can't. The game will not allow me to finalize a deal if I am negative at all. It would be nice to be able to remain in the negative until (maybe) the preseason starts, so I can make any moves I need to. In theory, until the season starts, the cap and cap room is just on paper, and should not be a hard limit.

5) I generally don't like how morale ratings in franchinse modes of sports games have been implemented, but I think it would be better if I could affect my players moreale in different ways. If I have a 10 year veteran guard with a 92 rating and 1 year left on a contract, I would like to make it clear to my 3rd year player with a 90 rating that he will get that spot when the veteran's contract is up. Then he can demand to be traded all he wants if I fail to give it to him. It would be nice to have something like that, or a slider for the importance of morale.

6) This is kind of silly, but it would be nice to retire player's numbers in franchise mode. Maybe this could affect the fan support or prestige or something.

7) It has been brought up a bunch of times, but I would like to second the need for a hall of fame in your franchise, in addition to a way of saving the stats of players that you choose. I had a QB I drafted, and had to let go after 6 seasons, and he proceeded to become the NFL leader in most categories. I worked on a new QB, and I was comparing the two of them as my franchise progressed, but after the 1st guy retired, I had no way of seeing how they stacked up later. It would be nice to pick players to store in a custom stat book, and have them be listed even after they retire.

8) It would be fun to work in a ego slider to the player's rating like the injury slider. A big ego WR (Is there any other kind?) that does not have the ball thrown to him a certain number of times would get mad and rant in the press, and the fans might react. Who knows how the real NFL Players Inc would react to EA's ratings for the players, but I think it would be fun in franchise mode to have to manage a Randy Moss type player.

9) Lastly, it would be nice to have some more sliders that measure intangibles like expierence, intellengence, and "Big Game" ability. This would allow you to create players like Terry Bradshaw, who was not the greatest player in the game, but could really bring it when the pressure was on. Maybe other sliders could go up (or down) during key games. Maybe the expierence rating could even out some of a player's declining abilities, and the intellengence rating could help a player progress more quickly. Other ones could be Heart, Drive, Ruthlessness, Nerve, and so on.

Thanks to EA fr reading this if they do, and sorry for the length of this post.
