Schemes....

It always depends... If u have speed on ur line. Then u can ply more of a 4-3 type defense w/man coverage... If you have good Line backers.... Then 3-4.

I use the 4-2-5, or 3-3-5 bcuase of the speed of my corners, safeties, and line.... I normally use NCst., which have great speed at the Line and corners... So I can apply pressure with the safeties, with additional help from the line. I am using Wisconsin which is a little different. I run those same plys to contain the run. But I have more passing yardage on me bcause of the lack of speed on the defensive and the safeties. I can apply pressure, but not at the same speed....

I would put FSU in that mix. There OLBs mixed with their secondary are great. I preffer their secondary to most. I get more interceptions with FSU than any other team.

Yes fsu has a tall D so they swat alot of crap down. Alos u have to put Mich in the Mix bc they have great CBs/ss/fs and have depth to back them up. With awns order id switch Ou and Usc and then ncst and Osu but some people do better with different teams but for me this is wut id say...

Ou- bc of taller secondary and more depth
Usc- great front 4
Osu- better Lbs then Ncst
NCst- Speed and height but slow lbs
Mich/Fsu- id say they r about the same and depents on wut D u run.. 3-4 id go with Fsu, but 335 wut i run id pick mich over fsu anytime

I think USC is the best. I had not played against them until the other night. Their D-Line was incredible. My buddy didn't blitz all game and he still was in the backfield all game long. FSU is really good too. Their corners are big. LB's are good. Very, very fast. Ohio st. is pretty nasty as well.

As far as schemes go, I hate playing against the 3-3-5 but I certainly have no success using it. I get ripped up in the seams and the sidelines. I prefer 3-4 and nickel.

I agree with spareparts, the 3-4 and nickel combo is pretty good. I like using the 4-4 mad bomber for goaline D. I learned that from here and it has been very successful for me. I too like the idea of stiking with one D formation and running different coverages out of it. Alot of people see a 3-4 and assume they can do this or that but when you mix coverages they will make a mistake.
