Madden 2006 on HDTV (PS2)

OK this is kind of a wish\question for the new Madden. I recently bought a wide screen DLP TV and when I play Madden 2005 online on PS2 it lags. I had to change to the xbox version to take care of this problem. I just hope the new PS2 version fixes this problem unless anyone knows a fix for this now. It is because the PS2 version does not support progressive scan as far as I know.

The PS2 as I understand just plain doesn't support it. You'll probably need to wait for Madden 07 on PS3 for this one. Although, Madden with component video cables on PS2 looks so much better than standard. I'd say that PS2 with component cables is about equal to Xbox with standard composite cables.

I don't understand why EA can not fix this. Socom 2 supports 480p so EA should be able to make madden support it.
