Sorry man, this was gonna be like 3 pm's so i just decided to make it into 1 thread

the way i beat the cpu is by using 3 plays according to down and distance and the formation package used by the cpu

1) 5-2 monster 3. pinch the dline, coverage audible down, spread the lb's, take the SS and bring him to the play side A gap. you're not gonna blitz him, but make sure he's "acting" like he's gonna blitz. defense is best used against short yardage situations or on first downs. look to run it against any 2 back set (like i form normal) or any of the big (maryland I) sets

2) 3-3-5 zone blitz. spread the d line, spread the lb's, coverage audible down, take the MLB and fake blitz to the play side. roam the middle with the mlb on passing plays. best used against any 3 wr set

3) dime monster 3. shift the d line right, lb's right, coverage audilbe down. take the SS again like you did in 5-2 and fake blitz the playside A gap. best used against any 3+ wr set

the thing i've noticed is that the cpu can handle one of the the two (i'm talkin about the 3-3-5 and dime monster 3). if the computer is beating you on one of those defenses, switch to the other.

let me know if it helps you

Thanks. So I take it you don't try to AB or anything? Just play zone and wait for the CPU to make a bad pass?

BTW, hate to sound like a dumbass, but I've got a couple terminology questions. What is the A gap? By "play side", do you mean the side the TE is on? If so, what would the play side be in formations with no TE? If not, what exactly is the play side?

lol, my bad man. i forget not everyone knows that stuff. the "A" gap is the gap in the offensive line between the guard and center on both sides. the "B" gap is the gap between the guard and the tackle. "C" is between the tackle and TE.

No AB needed. Trust me, you'll either get a sack or knock the ball down. take my word on this. these are the only defenses i use against the computer

play side is the strong side of the formation. take shotgun spread for instance, the play side would be the same side the back is on. i form normal would be TE side. 5 wide would be the side where the 5th WR is on. Get it?

I've never seen the strong side referred to as the "play side." The "play side" in coaching terminology is just what it sounds like, the side the play is run to. The D doesn't use the term playside on presnap reads because they don't know which way the play is going. The term playside is typically used by the O to determine blocking assignments, like on an inside HB Iso to the offensive right, there is a double team on the playside DT (Defensive left DT)by the Guard and Center or Guard and Tackle, depending on where the DT is lined up.

Here's how I beat the CPU offense.

1. On 1st and 10, CPU likes to like up in 3-5 WR SG formation and run QB draw. Here are the plays I use

1. 4-3 Fire 2. AB blitz
2. any formation Cover 2 man
3. 3-3-5 OLB blitz
4. 3-3-5 Double SS spy

That's all. I run fire-2 on 1st and 2nd down and usually get at least 1 sack.

thanks for the info. i did'nt know that. i'm an offensive guy. the only thing i ever understood on defense was coverages lol. that's why i was saying "playside" lol cause i was looking at it from an offensive perspective. thanks for letting me know though! ;)
