Has anyone else noticed how pathetic madden is at playing power football? A guy like c-port is a monster but jamal lewis is simply terrible. In all my time with watching football i don't think i've ever seen a CB tackle a back like lewis or the bus. It does football a serious injustice when they don't include those aspects. Fix it EA.

I agree. I was telling my friend a few weeks ago that Tatum Bell is actually a better RB then Jamal Lewis. In Madden stuff is so backwards. The tackle-breaking animations slow the runner down so much and take so long that the runner usally gets tackled soon after the broken tackle anyway.

A Disciple, I agree with your statement. A back can step out of a tackle, take a couple running steps and get tackled by the pursuit (usually a 300 lb tackle).

Hey guys, take a look at SEGA's ESPN's NFL 2k5, you'll get everything that you're asking for. Jamal Lewis won't be brought down by small cb's or cought up by 300 lb lineman. I'm a fan of both Madden and Sega. but I have to admit NFL 2k5 is far superior than Madden in the graphic and tacke animation dept.

The man's right ;-)

NFL ESPN 2K5 is FAR superior to Madden in the running game. I personally liked the franchise in ESPN a bit more than Madden, but that's debatable to some people. I'm really hoping for a charge system or better running game in 2006...playmaker controls and features are all well and good but...Madden still needs to fix its running game. As it is, a power back is not worth it in Madden.

But ESPN's motion capturing and animation is the worse. I use to play 2K2 football on the dreamcast hardcore ,but sega lamed out when madden steped up and added the motion capturing for better animation in 2001 and they did'nt do likewise to this day. So Sega diserves to be a distant second because of that blunder. When will Sega learn to make the animation of movement realistic. Its a shame because everything else about the game is good, but I just can't get over the horrible unrealistic movement.

Whaddya, kidding me?

2k5 is HORRIBLE tackling wise. I have both Madden and 2k5, and in 2k5 you can freaking break tackles with any player and take it to the house. Press COVER UP/HEADCHARGE and you're breaking the tackle. Their turbo/speed button is horrible too also, cause pressing X constantly makes even slow players go decent fast or faster then they should. 2k5 did a horrible job with tackling. Sure it looks good but if you do a sweep, TURBO TURBO TURBO your way outside then just headcharge, it's 6.
