The tipped ball thing is a joke. I had one play where the same guy who pressured my QB at the 30ydl intercepted the ball a the goalline after it was dipped about 6 times. Whateva.

I don't get the logic of it myself, EA must have thought it was funny on every icomplete passing play the ball tips around so much.

I found it strange that my DB's have the worst time trying to intercept tipped balls. One time, all 4 of my DB's went up to get it and none of them caught it. The ball went from one hashmark to the other where my DT miraculously ran over there and caught it, albeit not user pick.

maybe the pass physics which make it so difficult to pass in the game is directly related to how the ball bounces around so much. In NHL 2002 and 2003 you could adjust sliders for what was known as puck elasticity which basically meant you were adjusting how much bounce a puck had off of the boards, goalie etc. Maybe that is what EA did to make the passing game more difficult and requiring you to manual catch in order to get some sort of productive passing game, which effects the 40 yard fumbled ball, the 12 tipped pass and on and on
