My fellow ball playing players,
Please tell me what is the best "D" to stop these wannabe Michael Vicks?

Each defensive set has a couple of plays that will stop a scrambler...my personal favorite is out of the 3-3-5. It's the double safety spy.....I then will audible my front line to loop out....I will keep my MLB in as a spy to stop any draws....but with the safeties spying...and the line looping out....I can generally contain Vick....

I would suggest some time in the practice field....to work on your timing.....plus....the Dline, LB, and DB's audibles work extremely good this year.....they can change the entire complexion of the game. Most people are not using them....and they are very powerful tools to stop the rushing and the sideline to sideline.....AND the HB Direct.

I did a QB draw against someone in a 3-3-5 or 3-4, don't remember. I took it to the house from 50 yards out. Good for containing the outside, but if you're outmanned in the middle, that's trouble.

I liked this play last year to stop scrambling QB's. This year, it doesn't seem to be as effective, to me. It seems like the SS's just stand there. Last year, as soon as the QB left the pocket, they attacked him.

Fortunately, I haven't had to face any scrambling or BS tactics this year. Limiting games to the SPA and a few others on my friends list has stopped having to face BS gameplay.

HH I think it might have something to do with were you have your sliders set. I know the awareness slider I have set to 0%....but my SS's still react pretty good. Plus, one of my impact players is one of my SS.

Actually.....the thing that I have found that has REALLY changed the way my Defense plays is the new Audibles for the defense. If you utilize them....all of them.....they will stop, or slow down all the rushing that is going on. I am most impressed with the new line blocking schemes....and how you can spy your DE's with the press of two buttons....or your LB's can spy or blitz or stop blitzing at the push of a button....but really....the MOST effective audibles are for coverage.....being able to go 1,2,3 or 4 deep....shift left or right.....tight or loose coverage....and as always the BnR....it has really opened my defense up for me....and allows me a LOT more latitude in calling my defensive sets.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly here. You have to use the new defensive audibles to be effective in this game. I am really enjoying them in fact. You can do alot of different stuff and adjust on the fly. The only thing I haven't figured out how to do (even after reading the directions 20 times), is to bring my safties down closer to the line. I must be a dumb ***.

I really haven't spent anytime offline. So my sliders are all at default.

When you call a coverage audble....pull down on the left thumb wheel....twice.....and they will drop down closer to the line. Just to make sure....I just call a coverage audble....and then just hit "Y" again to call another...and instead...pull down on the left thumb wheel twice....you will see them drop down....

Funny....I have talked to quite a few players....and NO ONE is using these audibles.....and to stop the running game...you HAVE to use them or you will be watching the opposing team run on you all day long.

Absolutely. The D-Line jam, fan, and slant can be a thing of beauty. If you guess wrong, you can be screwed. You can do anything you want with LB's. You can run mad robber from 4-3 or 3-4. It is a pretty cool feature. The only thing I haven't messed with are the safties or going to a 1,2,3, or 4 deep zone. The life saver for me was triangle left or right to man up. The directions say it is triangle X, but every time I hit those keys, nothing is done.

the safety coverage works good. but i wouldn't suggest it in a cover 2. use it for cover 3 or 4, i've had lots of success shutting down impact wr's (one of them at least lol). it's like having 3 on one if it's a lob bomb. can be helpful, wouldn't over use it though

What is this now? Just a cover 3 or 4 defense? As I understand it these audibles just take you to a cover 1, 2, 3 or 4 defense.. (plus cover2man)

no, you can shift your coverage (as long as it's some type of zone) so that your safety's "shade" more towards a certain area/player on the field. coverage audible, R3 stick left (for left) right (for right). like i said, i wouldn't suggest doing it in cover 2, but it could be helpful in cover 1, 3 and 4 (man cover 2 also).

like i said, it can help to take away from a certain wr if someone's abusing you with him. i'll have to keep this in mind next time i play blueweeds. i've been experimenting with it a little. can be very effective as long as it's not overused

Now DJ.....don't go putting this in the rules as being cheese. I use them a LOT....and they are legit....I know when I played football....as a DB we would shade a reciever if he was a standout....we would shift coverages depending on the WR's and the QB. We would shift sometimes 2 times before the snap. Depending on coverages.

This is the hidden equalizer in the over-bearing run game. If you use the Audibles as EA has given you....you can shut down impact RB's and WR's and QB's. It's especially nice because even though they are in the manual....very few cheesers take the time to read anything...so they miss out on this improvement. And if played with some intelligence and intuition....you can shut down any cheese play out there....from a defensive standpoint.

oh no i didn't mean it like that. i meant if you overshade too much or too often in the same situations, it can come back to burn you. meaning your opponent can pick up on it and hit the other wr on one on one coverage

Yea these new audible bring a new realism to the game I never thought they would achieve.

Still a couple audible missing for the D-line and LBs that we used when I played ball but hey this is a great improvement.

triangle down - bump
triangle down again - safeties to LOS
