Doomed to lose

I was playing a week five game between the Packers (me) and Seahawks.
It was one of the funky games, where you're winning but every time you have a chance to pull away, you get a quirky play (penalty, turnover usually a fumble) that allows the CPU to stay close.
Down to the final two minutes tied 14-14, I drive the ball down to the Seattle 4, where it's fourth and four with four seconds left.
I call a time out, leaving me with one. I hit ask madden, figuring it is going to call up field goal.
Instead, it sends out the punt team.
I am stunned.
I go to call a time out, nothing.
I hit start to go to the menu, Time out is greyed out, even though I still have one left.
I try to run the ball in, get stopped,. Seahawks ball with one second left.
As I call my play, I check to see if I have any time outs left, I do.
The Seahawks first and only play, a pass, then goes 97 yards for a touchdown.
I guess it was just my fate to lose that game.,

Why would you ask madden in that situation? just kick the field goal:confused:

You could have taken a delay of game penalty which would have put you on the 14yd line. Still a very easy field goal. You screwed yourself and then the CPU came and finished you off.

That's not entirely true. The rule in the NFL (and in Madden as its happened to me during my ONLY loss in year 3 of my franchise with SF) is if the Offense gets a delay of game penalty in the final 2:00 minutes of a game, it an automatic :10 run-off (I believe its only during the final 2:00 min). It actaully happened in a game this weekend (can't remember who's game though). The game would have ended.

YOu should have went and changed one of ur audibles to a field goal and kicked it with ur punter.. IT was a chip shot so i doubt that you woud have had trouble making it with the punter or even a regular player.
Next time remember to do that.......

Siti. I think your right. I think he was screwed either way. You definitely cant call back to back timeouts. Thats why it was greyed out. changing the audibles would have been the correct play
