I go undefeated through the regular season with my Rutgers Scarlet Knights, in my second season in a dynasty. I play several very close games (Pitt, WVU, Syracuse), but I haven't faced anyone like Iowa, who I now must play in the Orange Bowl.

The CPU seems to have figured out the simple "bomb into double coverage" play. Executed by Drew Tate, their 99 OVR Impact QB, it's quite effective. I knocked down a few "bomb into double coverage" plays, but you can't get them all. It's 17-0 Iowa at the half (another "bomb into double coverage" was downed at the 1 with 0:00 in the second quarter). So far, they've scored 3 TDs, each of them of the "bomb into double coverage" variety. I score 14 points in the third and add another TD in the fourth (all rushing -- RU's 76 OVR Impact QB, Jabu Lovelace, isn't going to be throwing against Iowa). With 1:10 left, freshman sensation Terrence Wright scores to make it 28-24 RU.

I kick off. I stop them, they convert a 4th down. The ball's now on the 40 yard line with 18 seconds left, and it's 4th and 3. I call an all-man defense with some blitzing to stop their Impact halfback. Their third-string TE gets past my 1st-team All-Big East Impact CB, Tate delivers a perfect strike, and the big Iowan outruns my CB into the end zone with 12 seconds left.

1629 Greatest Game Points; #1 on my settings. I don't even care if anyone reads this -- it was one of those games you just have to write about afterwards. :)

If they had grounded the ball out and beat me at the line, where I was weak, it would have been okay. I could accept that Iowa beat my Knights. But the annoying "bomb into double coverage" stuff just broke my poor heart. It's annoying enough when one of your friends takes Universidad de Tejas out and does it with Vince Young, but at least you can trash his game to him.

Well, off to recruiting . . . we'll see how my Bowl loss will affect it.

Ask LSU about Drew Tate and his long bombs.... :)

Sorry Gary, but at least you lost to a quality team. ;)
