Start a dynasty with any team, no matter the prestige, but dont recruit anyone, make the entire team walk-ons, that will add some challenge for you. Perhaps even more than Temple

Thats not really a challenge. Because the game is flawed. You could go 80 run and 56 pass and in a few years you could have a decent program.

Say for instance that you have the number 1 running game in the game you will have a ton of half backs that would want to play for you. Therefore you could like 50 high profile running backs that would want to play for ya regardless if you recruited them or not. Thats why I say the game is flawed. But still a great game.

If you run the ball you will also get high def players too. You could the sliders for training like on 80 and disipline foe 20 for like 2 years in a row. Then adjust the displine slider to 40 and hand out season long suspensions. Then go back to 80/20 again.

I could be wrong but it seem to work good in 2k5 so....
I simm alot of games, I think that Duckfan are one of the same when it comes to recruiting. All though he tends to elaborate more then i do. But I do simm a ton of games.

Thats just my opinion

Actually that isn't as true as it used to be. If you have a top-flight program that ALSO ranks highly you will have a ton of guys showing up.

But if you read my thread (which I realize takes quite a while) you will see that I had a season as I was starting to join CUSA where almost no one wanted to come play for me. I was #1 in rushing that year, #3 in total defense, #1 in turnover margin, etc... But because I had zero conference wins I had completely black bars from nearly every in the country. Not like the partial bars you get where you know you can't sign them but they still like you. I mean completely dead bars. Even with a 9-win season, a bowl victory, and great stats, there were no good players that wanted to come.

Now give me a decent program and I can break the game's use of coaching styles to rip off a sequence of national championships. But trying to build Temple is like building a fire with green wood. It can be done. But there are lots and lots of ways to mess it up.

I expect (as I begin season 7) that I can get Temple a simmed NC by year 12. Maybe even by year 10 if I am lucky. The key is that CUSA's strength of schedule is terrible. So I will need one of those years where everyone loses. Those happen about 1 in 5. And I will have to get lucky with injuries.

And remember. By my own rules I am not using the three (now four) completely broken things I have found. So that it is a fair challenge.

Apparently the thread is well watched. Even though not that many folks reply, the views count continues to climb... I am glad if some folks are learning from it...
