I'm on year 26 of my Franchise in Owner Mode... getting to the point where the new stadium I built in year 5 is a piece of junk...

I do like all the strange stadium upgrades you get access to as the years go by, although I haven't chosen to use many of them. The goalposts made out of beams of light sounds cool, don't know if they appear that way on field. And the "Clear Dome" is straight out of Star Trek. A forcefield dome that covers the stadium??? Personal HDTV units at each seat is one I did buy, although it didn't translate into much new revenue.

I did buy the Solar Panels and Rainwater Collection System when I built my new stadium, and those more than pay for themselves (in reduced maintenance costs each year). But it's hard to justify spending $80M on a forcefield dome for your stadium without knowing what the benefit is...

Just wondering if anybody here has finished a Franchise yet. It's amazing what inflation does over time. $19 for a program and $21 for a beer... wow...

unfortunately i just finished the 30 year limit on franchise mode. its so sad, i was hoping there was an infinite amount of years you could keep your team, but denied.

I know the idea behind the 30-year limit is that you couldn't buy an NFL team until you were within 30 years of being dead... but still... :p

I posted in another thread when I finished that first franchise, but it was disappointing to me that there was no wrap-up screen. No final totals of wins and losses, or how much money you made, or how many years you made the playoffs, or how many Super Bowls. One little summary sheet would make a big difference. Especially if you could save it so you could show it to your friends... Instead you get a pop-up window that says you're done and that's it... :(

The inflation in the game IS crazy... but no crazier than real life... I'm only 32, but I remember paying $9 for a reserved seat to a Metallica concert at a 20,000 seat arena in 1989... Good luck seeing your cousin's polka band at the county fair for $9 today...

And it was a huge deal when Nolan Ryan got a $1M a year contract for the first time. That's a lot less than 30 years ago... so maybe having to pay $8M for a punter in 2030 isn't as nuts as it seems...
