Can the salary cap be turned off as in 2004?

I'm not interested in playing a franchise with no cap. We have a fantasy tournament we play in our family -- three years running in the current format. In 2004 we were able to assign coaches to our created teams by taking them into franchise mode, then exporting the team. We then loaded the exported teams into the tourney. Having the coaches pacing the sidelines just added to the experience.

So, can the cap be turned off?

I'm about 99% sure that you can't turn it off. You just have to work around it.

There are a lot of really good reasons someone might want to turn off the cap. It does not mean that someone is cheting or building a monster team.

Besides, even if they do, so what? It's their game and they can't use their team on line anyway. So who cares?

But no, you cannot turn the cap off - and if you'll notice, just like last year, you already have an issue with the rosters as a result.

In order to move Ty Law to the Jets, you must either cut some guys from their roster (making it inaccurate) or download the updated roster off the net (meaning you have to buy all the adapters and cables and such).

Otherwise your game was obsolete the moment you opened it yesterday.

If you want to stack your team turn injuries off, draft every position as normal. when you get to 2nd and 3rd string take lowest paid players youll have about 70 mill at the end of the draft if your careful. then sim to the next season and pick up any free agents you want. Also if you want turn off the trade deadline and the last week of season trade your 1st round pick for the worst teams (it lets you do this) and your 2nd and 3rd for the 2nd worst teams. then trade the new 1st and 2nd pick overall for any 2-3 awesome players you want.

or save before the draft simulate draft take out mem card see who the highest rated rooks are and getem or dont reload franchise and your good to go.

What is the cap is Madden 06? I think i heard somewhere it was 80 mil
