He all.
Use this a a thread to discuss trades and ask for what the best trade's are.
(1st = first rounds draft pick, 2nd = etc etc.)
I use the Steelers (2005, 06 rosters):
Charlie Batch for a Vikings 3rd.
Traded Faneca LG, a 2nd and a 3rd for Sean Taylor. (picked Fiore LG of FAs)
Roethlisberger, 1st and Neil (FA) for Seymour and a 2nd and 3rd.
I traded Heath Miller (TE) and 2x 3rd for Kellen Winslow. <-- dunno if that was smart, but I like a good TE. I'm glad the Madden Winslow is much smarter than Kellen Winslow.
I know these trades can't all happen in the 06 release, but give me your opinion.

I started one with the Eagles in '06.
The Franchise doesn't seem to have recorded my trades, but I think they were this:
DT Corey Simon to the Chiefs for WR Dante Hall, OLB Derrick Johnson and a mid-round pick.
DE Jason Gildon (from FA) and WR Todd Pinkston to the Jaguars for WR Matt Jones and a mid-round pick.
Some deal involving the Packers for SS Nick Collins.
I picked up from Free Agents:
WR Koren Robinson
C Chris Terry
RG Dan Neil
OLB Peter Boulware (I boosted his STR in the minicamp and switched him to DE)
Gary
lol, u stacked that team up. damn.

Pat,
The Eagles, as always, have tons of cap room that they don't use. Simon has no bonus because he's been Franchised, so you can trade him, especially since the CPU values DTs way too much, I think. And, as an Eagles fan, I had to get rid of Pinkston.
At least I didn't take Ty Law. (I had the cap room.)

Preseason year 1:
Traded T.O. to the Texans for A. Johnson and a 1st and 4th round pick. I also thru in a 2nd rounder......just to make it look better.
No free agent pick ups. I will let the CPU have them until the end of the season.

In real life the deal TO for Andre Johnson and a 4th would be fair. With the 1st it is way unfair.

Going to start my Eagles 'chise tonight. Will probably trade Simon and TO.
I always have to do trades I could see happening in real life. I will try to get a good, relatively young receiver and a high pick or 2.
Will likely send one player off for a pick and the other for a WR.
Was thinking TO for Price and a 2nd/4th.
Any suggestions of what yu might think is fair?
Might start a Texans franchise too....

In real life the deal TO for Andre Johnson and a 4th would be fair. With the 1st it is way unfair. Yeah I thought about that.. I might go into my franchise tonight and give them my 1st for my 2nd back. Im not sure how I am going to do it but I will fix it :)
Note: I also wanted to get a WR similar to T.O. because I am in a league and I plan on taking the Eagles. Im using that as practice so I need the team to stay close to the real squad. That really depends on if I use T.O or not. Im 95% sure I won't

I HAVE to trade TO, I can't stand using players I don't like. Now I will admit I may love him later this year if he comes back and things blow over.
As of now however, there's no way I can start a franchise with him on the team.
I might start a Cowboys or Texans Franchise in addition to my Eagles one. Maybe Cowboys. I will likely try to move somebody to get a few more picks, maybe Glover. I will wantto be in position to get a QB and a WR for the star heads.

Well, for me, (i), T.O.'s very good; and (ii), you must have to take a, what, $8M cap penalty next year if you trade him? Or is it like $7M or $6M? Either way, that's a heck of a lot of money. Personally, I don't mind T.O., so I'll play with him.

I love playing Franchise mode for 1 glorified season, so I don't care a hoot about year 2 penalties. I took the pats and made the following trades:
FB Pass + 2 X 2nd round picks to Bucs for Alstott.
My #2 WR (can't remember who) + 1st round to Pittsburgh for Hines Ward
My #1 TE + 2nd and 3rd round pick to Baltimore for Heap
Signed Boulware (FA) and traded him and some other nobody for a 1st
Signed Ty Law + 2 strong MLB
Traded away remaining 2 MLB
My team is AWESOME.
Another fun franchise move is to sign all the FA you can, then trade away everyone on your team with the highest salaries. Get the lowest salaried players you can with decent ratings. Accumulate as many high picks as you can. Then trade up in OVR again at each position. You can usually end up with a an All-Pro team and still be under the cap. Forget about going into a 2nd year with that team though, just go for it all on All-Madden mode.

After the season (Bengals), I plan on trading Kim Herring for a mid 3rd or 4th round pick and Duane Clemons for a mid 4th or 5th. If I get lucky enough to get a 3rd and 4th for those two players, I'll trade those two picks for a high third rounder and a 5th (hopefully) or a 6th (likely). This will leave me with nine selections.
Using last year's draft position (17th overall), my draft will look like this:
1. 17 (17)
2. 17 (59)
3. 4 (68)
3. 17 (81)
4. 17 (113)
5. 17 (145)
6. 4 (164)
6. 17 (177)
7. 17 (209)
I could also throw in my 7th and both 6ths for an early to mid 5th, which would make the draft board look like this:
1. 17 (17)
2. 17 (59)
3. 4 (68)
3. 17 (81)
4. 17 (113)
5. 12 (140)
5. 17 (145)
As you can see, one draft has nine picks, the other has only seven. If I was rebuilding a team (like SF, Miami, etc...) I would go with less talent but more depth (quantity over quality) to get the right players for my system and weed the older/less talented players out. However, since I'm using the Bengals, the players already there are basically the right ones, so I'll maximize the talent available to me and sacrifice two picks. (quality over quantity).
Really quickly, if I were using a team like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Indy, etc (very deep, top tier teams), I would then go one step further and trade both 5ths for a low to mid 4th, then trade that pick and my 17th pick in the third round for the highest second rounder I could find, proably in the late teens, early twenties. The draft board for that would look like this:
1. 17 (17)
2. 17 (59)
2. 19 (61)
3. 4 (68)
4. 9 (105)

And you probably don't play on a tough difficulty...Putting up those numbers, with that offensive line, must be rookie or pro...

i started a cupcake team that i revamped the oline with FA's , oline averaged 75 ovr. 4 years in the league, have gotten over 2000 yds running every year. ive only gone over 2000 once since playing madden for the first time in 03. this is AM with the sliders practically all the way up except interceptions. he obviously is playing on pro or something, but im just saying, if you commit to one reciever and 1 back and 1 qb, you can get those numbers.

Uhm... I think i have yet to rush for over 2300 yards as a TEAM on all madden. And my RB has progressed to 99 overall and i've got some serious run blockers on my line. So yeah he's playing pro. That or he's just that much better than me

Playing Madden 2007 on Xbox default Roster
Kevan Barlow/2nd Pick for Mike Williams
Kwame Harris for Mike Alstott/5th Pick
I was tired of Kwame missing blocks and Adam Snyder was putting up better numbers when I played him. Also Chris Hetherington is the worst FB on the game. Since then Gore went from 3.0 to 4.2 AVG
Kevan Barlow trade was cause I like using Gore more then Barlow so I decided to get a big number 2 wideout cause Antonio Bryant/Vernon Davis are very good at getting open deep and I needed a WR that could keep drives alive. Williams speed suck but with his big body he is good on comeback routes and converts a lot of 3rd down conversions for me.

I've had some nice trades in the past, but I can't remember exactly how they went down. Next time I get one worthy of telling, I'll be sure to post it.
