Starting to piss me off. I have Fabian Washington who is a like an Olympic athlete...has all the tools to be an elite corner and he can't progress past 70 AWR no matter what I do. I'm sick of backup safeties going from 70-90 OVR in two years yet I can't get my CBs to progress worth crap.

INT's and keeping the passing yards down usually helps me progress my CB's. Maybe it will work once you get to the playoffs because you progress based on one game.

I've found that my CBs progress nicely. My WRs, on the other hand, haven't gone up :p

I am now guessing that for every franchise, they have one thing that doesnt seem to progress as good as the others

My CB's are doing well because my D is doing well. It all depends on unit stats and individual stats.
If your CB is getting tackles and int's but you're giving uo 20+ a game he's not going to do gret.

I have Washington as well, he is progressing nicely. In fact all of my DBs are doing well. - Lots of picks... might have something to do with the preasure my D-Line brings.
I have found that the Nickle 3-3-5 is a great scheme and produces plenty of opportunity for INT's. - I play it against both 2 & 3 reciever sets.

I use the Raiders as well, resigned Routt to seven years and all my CB's are progressing great. I traded a third or fourth rounder for Nick Collins - (SS from Green Bay) and he was Defensive Rookie of the Year and DB of the year. Granted, I play all my games - (all-pro) except pre-season and do control Collins on Defense - (79 Tackles, 16 sacks, 3 interceptions). Just finished my first season - (Beat Green Bay with last second field goal 19-17 in Super Bowl). My cornerbacks even developed 1 - 2 points of acceleration and jumping during off-season.
On the other hand, my offense sucks. The part I do not understand is that Gallery was offensive lineman of the year yet his rating went down at every evaluation except Super Bowl and off-season. I know it has to be that my throwing is it horrible but Joardan still made the pro-bowl so he should of gotten some love as a run blocker. Pretty bizzarre.

If you get lots of picks and keep your opponents passing yards low over the season, your corners will progress well. I was using the Steelers (D.Townsend, R.Colcough, I.Taylor, B.McFadden as starters), and by year 3 of my franchise Townsend and Colcough were both 91 overall, McFadden was an 88, and Taylor was an 82. I didnt have a lot of picks the first year, but my passing defense was in the top 15. The second year, I believe my passing defense was 6th, and I did better on interceptions as well (McFadden and Porter tied for team lead with 5 each).
I think most of the progression came from increased awareness, because their awareness just skyrocketed. By the third year, McFadden and Colcough had 99 awareness, and Townsend was 92 awareness. Taylor was injured part of the first season, so his awareness was down at 82.

LB's have the same problem.
Also noticed Gates/Gonzalez/Davis and every other stud TE never gets more than 600 yards a season. Not realistic.
Safeties and OL guys go bonkers....stupid.
When is the exclusive license over???

my cbs are 99 99 and 91 after 5 chise years. Its my WRs and Linebackers that i have trouble progressing, which i think has to do with individual/team stats, since i give up alot of big runs i dont rank well agains the run but i do vs the pass. And since i play accelerated clock i dont get 9-14 Recs per reciever as most teams do.
Maybe ur playing too long of quarters and you cant help but give up too many yards as you have way too many plays happening.

If you make it to the playoffs and win almost all your players will progress. thats what happened in my 49ers franchise

Ahhhhhh, so happy.
Went out and traded in next-gen madden, got a PS2 (xbox's aren't for sale anymore), got PS2 Madden, downloaded the current rosters, started a REAL franchise, where players progress intelligently.
So happy. The next-gen franchise mode sucks...so bad.
PS3 fans, you've been warned.
