View Full Version : Sandman's Packer Franchise

I have always wanted to do something like this and with the release of Madden 2006, it gives me a chance. Now:
I have already played 16 games in the first year of this Packers' franchise. I started out at 2-0 with wins against the Lions and Browns. I then dropped three straight against Tampa Bay, Carolina, and New Orleans. I got a big win in Week 7 against Minnesota and have rattled off ten consecutive wins after starting 2-3. Going into Week 17, the Rams are my only competition for home field advantage. I go into the Seattle matchup with a 12-3 record, St. Louis has a 12-4 record. A win clinches home field throughout the playoffs. I will post the breakdown of the Seattle game later on along with playoff matchups, progression, pro bowl starters, and yearly awards that I won. I hope for this franchise to be a big success.

Ummm, no delicate way to ask so I'll stumble forward. Did you simulate? If so, the previous statement makes sense. If you actually played, maybe it was the button masher that actually threw the interceptions? Or did a poor throw overcome good timing?
My son is always complaining about how so-and-so sucks but it usually means that he made a bad decision (or two). I know that I cause more turnovers than the QB does.

How much minutes a quarter.
Man the Redskins beat you up bad!
To make Nick Collins defensive back of the year can you list his stats for that year!
sandman
10-02-2005, 10:27 PM
I'll tell you one thing, Nick Collins is a beast. He is by far one of the best defensive players I have ever had. He had something like 7 interceptions and 2 touchdowns. His tackle numbers were pretty high as well. I play 5 minute quarters. The franchise seems to be advancing at a fast pace.

I will finally be able to put together a big update on the franchise tonight for those who have been following my progress.

11-05-2005, 06:14 AM
oh well, you need a stud qb.
sandman
11-05-2005, 10:45 PM
If that last message was directed towards me, I first believed a quote "stud" QB was necessary to win in this year's game. As the franchise has progressed, I found out I was wrong. A mediocre QB and a supplementary "above average" to "great" defense will win you ball games. I have achieved the "great" defense status I believe and my QB doesn't lose games for me.

I wanted to preclude the Regular Season scores with an acknowledgement to one defensive player. It truly was the year of Terry Immelman. He came through in the most crucial spots in way to a 15-1 record. The defensive unit as a whole stood out and to them I want to say thanks.

Draft Trades :
Packers trade a first round pick ( 32nd overall ) and a second round pick ( 64th overall ) to the Browns in exchange for a first round pick ( 23rd overall ).
Packers trade a first round pick ( 23rd overall ), a third round pick ( 96th overall ), and QB Rutledge to the Dolphins in exchange for the a first round pick ( 9th overall ).
What is the purpose of this trading you may ask? Well the #1 rated QB, Kareem Holmes, ran a 4.35. This was the speed QB I had been looking for.
I did not have any luck trading up after that and I was very lucky that he fell to me at the 9th pick.

I just read through this whole thing. I really enjoyed it. Can I ask how you keep your games competitive season after season? Do you bump up the sliders at certain times?
sandman
12-23-2005, 11:19 AM
Well I started off the first seven seasons at normal All-Pro sliders. It became too easy, and I have gradually bumped them. Currently, the A.I. sliders are maxed out on All-Pro difficulty.
