For me it really all depends. I use the Pack. If it's my first ever season of the game I will usually play it and use the first season to get used to the game. If I for some reason have to restart my season I will usually sim it.

I have only simmed games in 06 so far, playing on my friends PS2, when I finally get my computer copy, I plan to play some. Mostly tho, I'm a sim kinda guy, but for some reason I've had some slow progression in the 4 yrs of simmed franchise even tho I've been in the superbowl game 3 times, I sure hope it's not due to simming games.
I usually pick a team like the Jags, Eags or NE for some good coaches to start with, and do a fantasy draft, then promptly relocate to Edmonton. :)

I play the first 6 games and sim the rest. - Lets me work on progression early in the season, then I sim the other 10 games to see what I really have in comparison to the rest of the pack.

I am decieded to play all my games. Siming games are boring anyway. :D

You miss the point perhaps. -
But then again, I sympathize with those who may become distressed when their pride and joy team gets creamed all season long and ends a simmed season at 3-13.

all simming leads to is an unbelievable amount of injuries to your star players

i usually start off the season all gung-ho to play every game down to the minute, then about 4 games in i play 3 quarters and put the controllers in neutral and let the CPUs duke it out while i go do something else then about 8 games in i just sim the season. Good thing its not a bball game i dont know if i could ever play an 82(84?) game season. or better yet baseball... i wonder if there is some person out there who has actually played all 162(?) games plus playoffs of a season in baseball.

I have once. It was a long time ago on the Sega Genesis. That took a lot of determination and effort to stay focused.

Well what im doing is im simming the entire browns year, then using the off season to release all players 32 years old and up to get draft picks, and then move my team and call them the L.A Pandas.

I plan on playing all the games. The only time that I've done otherwise was when it became clear that my team was not going to contend for a playoff spot and I simmed the balance of the season. I even play the preseason games. 21 games/season isn't that many really.

I agree with you about the pre-season. I play atleast three of the four games. - Really, too nice of a progression bump is available to do otherwise! -
