After ending my first season with the Rams; I released T. Hargrove and didnt find a suitable replacement in the draft. Low and behold I enter free agency and the number 1 DE is Julius Peppers. Knowing how well he could be to a passing game and finishing 21st against the pass the previous year; I immediately signed Peppers to a 4yr/ $30.5M contract with a (get this) $10 Million signing bonus. Great sign right? Well, not really. entering the 6th game of the season he has only managed 4tackles, and NO SACKS!!! Averaging 35- 40 defensive reps a game over 6 games and only 4 tackle and no sacks. Well after much thought and deliberation, and even giving him some practice reps at OLB; I closed my eyes and traded Peppers to the Raiders for F. Washington and 1st rnd and 3rd rnd draft pick. I will take the $10 M cap hit next year but that is ok, I have a converted OLB M. Steele at DE and has produced more than Peppers. I guess it will be a tough off season. What do you guys think, do you agree or disagree with what I did, and what would you have done??

So you had Little on one end and Peppers on the other and Peppers didn't do squat? What kind of cap space did you have? I think that's pretty key on whether you should take the cap hit.

I had over 20 freeagents released and I had a very young team and the cap hit will hurt but I think that I will have enough to manage, maybe realistically this time as they have to do in the real NFL.

You were too hasty. I wouldn't have traded him so quickly. But it is too late now.
