Urlacher has announced that he will not play another game for the Bears and has demanded that he be traded! This has occurred before the second season even started. I can't trade or release him or trade him without taking an impossible cap penalty. (14M bonus)
Should I let him sit?
Will this clubhouse 'cancer' infect other players?
This is an impossible situation!!!!! Help!!!

Actually you can realease him and when you re-sign him he will be fine. If you release him with the cap penalty you should re-sign him then go to My Team and push o or B on Xbox i guess and it will clear all cap penalties so you will not have to worry. However you can only do this once per season

If he's under contract he should still play. You just have to insert him into the starting lineup... I think.

Naw, he won't play if he's pulling the old 'Trade Me'. I've had to let people sit through a season before, but 14M is a big pill to swallow, sounds like he'll be sitting for a couple seasons. Why's he so pissed off, were you starting him?

No, if a player becomes so disgruntled that a "Trade Me!" appears over his picture you can't do anything with him except trade or release him. He will never play for you again (unless you release and resign him). Things that can cause this: 1) trading or releasing an icon on your team or 2) them having a high team need % while being in the upper 80's-90's in OVR and not getting much play time.

I made him mad by trading a bunch of his old buddies.(no icons) They were 3 and 13 for crying out loud! I got group of promising kids and that didn't please him.
I fixed his wagon though. Before I started my new franchise I released BU and when the franchise actually started my 'second' team traded him back to me at a discounted salary and no bonus penalty. If it happens again he's going to spend time on the bench!!
Thanks for your help.

Dont put him on the bence, Release him, take the penalty, and resign. After you do that you can clear all the cap penalties so it will just be like he never wanted to get traded

the bears are a joke, how long will they experiment with Rex Grossman for??

when my friends and I used to play tackle football in the park in middle school and high school, there were some kids who got hurt EVERY time. Eventually we stopped inviting them to come play.

I know it is cheesy, but it works if you change his position to like TE or RB then re-sign him. After re-signing him just change his position back to MLB, and he won't be demanding a trade anymore.

Can someone tell me how to change a player to a different position?

They won't be experimenting with him any time soon... not with a broken ankle anyway.

I do that! Except we play with like 4-6 people, because all my friends don't wanna get hit by me and the other big guys (Me and a couple of my friends are in football, the others aren't and they are afriad of getting hit).

Not in Madden. I have him on my franchise and he has 22 sacks after 9 games. He is all over the field. He's probably the best MLB in the game.

wow, kinda suprising. When i started with the panthers i made a large number of big risk trades and no one got made. Players i traded away were Mike Minter, Brenson Buckner, Steven Davis, Jake Dehlomme, and afew second stringers including Brandon Short and Chris Draft. Figure someone would get angry but no, i didn't have a single disgruntle player.

sounds like u are in a real pickle though. I suggest taking the hit of the 14 mill, how much is he making a year currently. If the difference isn't to big u need to trade him, u can probobly bring in a draft pic or 2 or maybe another superstar. Rework alot of your players contracts by giving all of your young players large long contracts, this should clear alittle cap space. Also make sure u have the minimum number of players u need, no need in throwing afew dollars away if u are short on cash. Also taking a hit on depth can even it out. Roll the dice and sign abunch of crap players next year to fill in the roaster and make sure u have the best training staff. Might make the difference in money for signing those draft pics or big name Free Agents.
