This worked in 05, I don't see why it should'nt work in 06. At the begining of the season trade ur 1st pick to a sorry team ex.Cardinals, 49'ers, Bears, and e.t.c. Then do this for the 2nd then 3rd and etc. Hopefully these teams did the worst and You will have their pick and their have ur pick.

I did that , but I ended up with two of the worst teams 1st round picks. I traded my first and third round picks to the worst team for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks. Next, I traded the worst teams 2nd and 3rd round picks and my 4th round pick to the second worst team for their first round pick.

To each his own but that is waaaay too unrealistic for me.

why bother doing that, just see who the top rated rookies are in preseason and trade for them with 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks. If you are playing the game to just smash it then you have a great philosophy, if you are playing to have a challenge then you may want to monitor yourself and not make cheezy trades that are unrealistic.
Besides, with a 1st round pick you should have been able to get at least a #1, 3 and 4 or 5 from one of the 5 worst teams in the league. If you are going to exploit the games AI you might as well go all the way, and to guarantee the other team does poorly make sure that the trade is done in the last week prior to the deadline, and simm a couple of their games with wacky slider settings so they are sure to lose

I did this in o5. Like I would do my teams pick(bills probably) for the Browns pick and I would almost always get the number 1 pick and I would import so I could get like Leinart and Bush and Edwards and stuff.

... just sign the best free agents, whether you need them or not, and then trade them next year for draft picks. That happens all the time in real life, right?
*cough*

man, i did this stuff in 04. to each his own, though, i prefer to trade before the draft once i scout the talent. i try not to take advantage of already stupid CPU owners.

Make the game a challenge for yourself. - Here is what I do:
I will NEVER trade for a teams higher round draft pick selections unless I am offering as a minimum the same or better draft pick in return. If I want to trade for a 81 rated rookie, who was drafted in the first round, pick 15... I offer a first round pick as compensation, or a very young player (1st or 2nd year) who is atleast 4 or 5 OVR points above the rookie I am looking to obtain. - Maybe even tossing in an additional 4th round pick to boot.
If the player I want was drafted as a blue-chip (top 5 selection) - Then I offer a first and third pick in return.
I am not against the idea of picking up a top rated free agent and then trading him for draft picks. But if I do, I will sign him to a minimum 2 year deal and pay a 1 million dollar bonus to him. Just my way of keeping it atleat a little realistic. - The team that trades the picks for the player, saves $1 mil. in salary costs and keeps the player for atleast 2 seasons. -
Trading your top picks in exchange for a 'losers' top picks is cheesy as heck, but even at that you aren't guarranteed a blue-chip pick. -
If the game is too easy, there is no challenge... and for me; no challenge = no fun.
