View Full Version : Defense stronger than Offense

Does it seem to anyone else that defense has a large over offense in this year's game? Maybe it's just my team (but I doubt it) but my defense is just too good. I've played 7 games in my inaugural franchise season and I've only allowed 24 points total. I've already had 3 shutouts -- they used to be more uncommon than Super Bowl wins! What is going on? Has anyone else noticed this? What did you do?
PS I'm playing on All-Pro with default sliders.

Yep it's getting rediculous. Especially the INTs. It's like NCAA where every single pass is a dropped INT.

yeah, in the last 3 maddens the cpu would start torching you and air it out for 300-400 yds after you go up by 2 TDs. I started a browns franchise on all-pro and I have the #1 defense and #1 scoring offense in the league after 13 games. I give up 7 pts/game and about a 100 total yds/game. on all-pro in 05 you could easily put up 40-50 pts/game but they would at least get 3 or 4 scores through the air. guess I'll have to just move up to all-madden.

same here. after 4 years of getting killed on defence all of a sudden i am holding teams under 150 yds total offence. at the end of one game (jets vs jaguars) byron leftwich's qb rating was 1.9

You gave up that many yards last year?! I gave up like 50 yards total offense last year on all pro defualt sliders. Thsi year I give up 100 yards, and i score less. They upped the dificulty.

You guys need to up your game to all madden mode with default sliders. You guys are allowing to little yard a game. All madden is much better.

I would bump up the sliders first for the CPU before going to cheating *** All Madden

I played All-Madden almost exclusively in M2005. I will finish this season as is and try to work on my offense so that I'm ready for All-Madden. I don't want to play a bunch of 3-0 or 6-3 games.

I have been playing on All Pro in my franchise and I am only a season and a half through, but compared to last year my defense is improved (less than 7 pts a game compared to around 15 in '05) but my o is struggling (17 pts a game vs 35).
Has anyone tried playing longer games? I think with 7 or 8 minute quarters we might end up with more realistic stats...I haven't really checked into it but I want to find out how many plays a game I am having and then compare to the # of plays in an NFL game and try to play with the proper quarter length to replicate that

I'm playing all pro default sliders and am getting an average of 60-70 plays and ranging from 300 - 400+ yards per game. Watching sports center today, most of the games there had around 60 plays with yards in the high 300's
forgot to mention I play 7 minute quarters. Scores are quite close to actual games as well. I play my chise as the cowboys and first game against the chargers was like 24-13 and my buddy is playing as the chiefs and scored 34-31 over the jets.
Point is I'm happy with our settings and I have fun. That's all that matters to me.

If you have decent play calling, you can shut out the teams on All Madden as well.
The best of the best qbs give me problems occasionally, but it's rare when the comp can engineer a long drive down the field.

I've been playing with 7 minute quarters, but I should probably move it down to 6. No one in the league is anywhere close to the amount of passes that I attempt with my qb. I believe my rb is in the top 5 for run attempts as well.
