It's really bad how they let people run the quarter D every play since it shuts down almost everything, when I'm in a big formation with 2 TE's and a FB and there in quarters that should be a 4-5 yard run almost everytime but in madden all u have to do is bunch everyone up on the line and u got urself one killer defense the o-line gets zero push on a 3 man front I hope they eventually fix this I thought they would this year but I was wrong

It's not really a matter of toning Quarters down. They need to totally revamp the blocking especially run blocking. And they need to make weight, size matter too. Quarters is strong because of the alignment. Most of those DB's blitzing from angles are just out too far for the offensive linemen to go get them, so the linemen end up blocking no one.

Ya making the size matter would defineately change things, a 300 lb guard should pancake a DB evertime and take the LB out alot more to

If you really watch closely... the O-Line does get a good push against Quarters. blockers do flatten DB's. And the O-Line does get a good upfield push against the 3-man D-line...

The problem is when the O-line misses... Which they often do. Although it seems as if the O-Line isn't getting an upfield push, only 3 of them are against D-linemen... The others have to fire off the line and attack quicker defenders that ARE NOT at the LOS.

When the Tackle is engaged, but the G shoots out to take on a DB, there is a gaping running lane between the G-T. the drawback is that both the defenders and the ballcarriers can use it. Often the defenders meet the ballcarrier in the lane that the O-line creates. If the O-Line doesn't get a hand on the DB's... IT'S OVER. Most times, they miss someone because they simply aren't quick enough to block them all.

The biggest mistake most people make in running against Quarters is beleiving that a 2TE formation is supposed to guarantee them 5-10 yards each carry. While tight formations may seem as if they would give the back the push he needs, most times they just clutter the running lanes so that the ballcarrier has no place to go CLEANLY. On top of that, alot of people misread thier blocks and get dropped because of it.

Just my take...

I agree that you shouldnt get 10 yard runs all the time but it I have 5-6 guys on the line of scrimmage and they have 3 and then 7-8 DB's there should be massive holes.......I also agree the o-line speed is really bad and they miss WAY to many blocks, o-lineman are some of the smartest players on the field make them act like it on the game, if someone isnt right in front of them they just ignore them........and another thing on sweeps pleeeease make the lineman run outside and block the DB cuz they never do they will just jog and pick up a LB that cant even make a play on you

I play with pitt and I love idiots who run quarters D. I just smash them to pieces until they go to a conventional defense. I use the 2 TE, Heavy set where the TE is subbed with another tackle, and I just run un inside for 3 to 12 yards a pop. I do it over and over again until they get out of the formation. Its pretty funny really when you can call the same play over and over and score because they are so hard headed. Jerome licks his chops when he sees 7 CB's and safeties that he can truck heh

And umm Pitt's offensive line/FB knocks the CB's/safeties on their arses. Oh line up in the quarter pls please please heh
