Is it ok to still draft a player with a terrible interview but has a good scouting report?

I think the interview has to do with the players awr rating. either that or how his attitude will be.

Interview = Awareness
I have noticed that amazing interviews for 1st rounders usually gets you players in the mid to upper 70's in AWR, but only mid to upper 60's in AWR for players graded in the 4th - 7th round with an amazing interview. Once I did draft a TE in the 7th round that had 78 AWR, he was rated as undrafted despite having an amazing interview.

In the Madden strategy guide, it says that the interview part of the scouting process is directly related to awareness. I only drafted those who had an interview with a great or amazing rating. Scouted a full back who had a terrible rating who went undrafted, but the rest of the scouting report on him was good. Checked him out after the draft and he was legally brain-dead!!!

It's actually better to draft guys with low AWR as long as they have all the physical tools. Of all the attributes I pay attention to AWR least. AWR only improves as a player ages. SPD, STR, etc, are hard to increase. I'd much rather have a 8x SPD 8x STR OLB with 50 AWR than a slower one with 78 AWR. Also, players with lower AWR and good physical stats are more likely to get to 99 OVR rating. Alot of high AWR rookies don't always have enough room and platue around 92-93 OVR.

This was especially true in 2005 where it a lot of positions the only thing I could get to consistently improve was awareness.
Even in 2006, awareness is always the easiest attribute to increase. So, if the cpu ranks 2 guys as top 5, then they must have a similar overall score as rookies.
However, if one has a terrible interview and one has an amazing interview, then one of the guys overall is being pulled up by his high awareness, and one is getting pulled down. That means that one guy must have MUCH higher physical attributes (str, speed, acc, etc). Thus, the two guys will start out with a similar overall, but the "dumb" one will have an easier time increasing, and will have a higher maximum overall.

i agree with BRUTAL ATTACK. All his comments are right on. BEWARE though.....certain possitions are AWR driven. both SAFTY & all LB positions.
Also, i have had bad interview players that have moral problems for the smallest issues. I hate having to constanty redo contracts with malcontents because someone on the team has a better contract or some one got traded etc.

I've never really noticed attitude problems with bad interviews.
