When a player whens a position battle for example a 75ovl rookie wins the position over an 88ovl vet, has anyone notice if the rookie really does play better or does it not even matter? I sim my preseasons so does that make a difference? I usually keep the players with the better att even if they lose the position battle.

If a rookie wins out over a vet and you bench him, he'll just go with the flow morale-wise. If you leave him in, he probably won't perform as good as the vet would, but his progression will usually take off. If a vet wins the position battle, either over a rook or another vet, and you bench him, he'll get ticked off and eventually request a trade.

2nd string players who are not near as good as the real starters win all the time, atleast with me. I once as a 73 beat a a 96, yea right, sit ur @ss down Mr. 73. They do play better stat wise, but usually it is because they get sooo much more playing time and are playing with fellow rookies or 70-ish players.
