FAQ Part 1 ( Training Camp - End of Preseason )

***I first want to mention the Madden Franchise Tips Thread located in the Madden 2005 Franchise Forum. It is deifintely the most invaluable thread we chise guys have. A must read.***

Q : What additions have made to the franchise aspect of Madden 2006?

A : Three additions have been made to the franchise aspect of Madden 2006. They include a gameplan feature, spawn games, and total control simulation ( a personal favorite ).

http://www.vgsportsinc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11526

1. Gameplan - This feature is accessible from the main menu, below Play Week, once Training Camp has been been completed. It helps to prepare for your upcoming opponent. It is broken down into a Statistical Breakdown, Positional Breakdown, and a Weekly Gameplan.
a. Statitsical Breakdown - Shows the statistical rankings of your next opponent in comparison with the rest of the league.
b. Positional Breakdown - Breaks down which of the opponent's players may be most perceptible and what match-ups may be in your favor.
c. Weekly Gameplan - Gives a list of three plays which may be most effective against the opponent and allows you to practice them.

2. Spawn Games - Save key games throughout the season then play them at any time. Merge the results back to your Franchise season to continue. This appeals most to those interested in the online approach.

3. Total Control Simulation - A feature that appeals to those interesteted in calling the plays instead of the actual gameplay. Once you pause the simulation, three options are available : finish the simulation which produces an immediate result, enter the game, and continue the total control simulation.

Not sure how much this ethically lines up with the real world, but......what i do when i want to get 'rid' of a guy (usually an older player, often an icon who just wont retire and is looking to feather his nest with my money) without taking the cap hit from his bonus is.....renegotiate his contract to a long term no bonus one immediately before i trade him away for the best rookie at his position for that year. I have found that even if the player is of iconic status, as long as you are only getting 'rid' of one that year, the hit to team prestige is not that bad. Other players are happy you treated him 'well' by giving him a big contract which helps to offset the penalty for shipping an aging icon off to the old folks home.

The realistic alternative view is that players are aware an aging guys skills are deteriorating and as such becoming detrimental to the teams as a whole.

They 'expect' ownership to do the right thing.

I am having an issue on Madden 2006. I am having a problem where my total yards are not equaling out to be what they should be. I'm always last on the total yardage per team. I like to play with the accelerated clock though this might be my problem. Can anyone suggest a good time limit for my game. I don't want it to take hours to play if that is possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I went 15-2 on my season, but I always find myself last in yards. Also my quarterback and halfback are not recieving the ball enough compared to others in the league so I KNOW this is a time issue.

P.S. - I've tried 7min quarters with accel clock and 8 min quarters with accel clock though this was later in the season.

I play 4 minutes all madden, and Im usually around 2nd for most of the stuff. Defense nearly first (except in fumbles forced or recoveries, nobody fumbles, and if they do Its over-turned).

I play 6 min non-accel, and fair play enabled, so I have to punt/FG on 4th down...(unless it's inches or the end of 4th qtr)

What's Up All, First timer here. Was wondering how you can tell what effect the coaching staff is having on players? Thanks

Look at your roster and you will see certain attributes highlighted in yellow. They show a 1-2 point improvement over what they really are. You get this from the high ratings of your coaches. Say you have an OC with a REALLY high rating in QB..then you may see a jump in your QBs AWR an/or THA. Hope that helps.
