Starts v Playing Time

When my players complain they say that they're not starting enough. Are they really worried about starting games or about getting playing time?
If starting is all they want, can I start them and then take them out in the first quarter? Would this keep them happy? I have a feeling that since Madden can't measure the time played that this would work.
Anyone have an answer?

You can start them, then bench them quickly. That will work out just fine. You can even go to the extreme of never letting them get a snap in the game. As long as they are on the top of the depth chart, they’ll consider themselves the ‘starter’ and they’ll be happy.

I once had two players at the same position, both insisting they should start. Rather than trade one, I simply alternated ‘starts’ for them by changing the depth chart every game, and then I played whoever I wanted once the game started. This kept them both mollified for a season.
