Let's face it, while a lot of the suggestions are great ideas, EA is not going to drastically overhaul the Madden Engine unless it will make a very noticeable (and profitable) difference in the game and quite frankly i don't blame them (but they definitely do have some work still to do ;) ).

However, the development team may listen to suggestions of little tweaks and touches that make the game a better experience, provided those tweaks require minimal coding, disc space, and time.

I'd like to turn this thread into a place to make this type of suggestion. Now I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of Madden and its complexities and I'm guessing most of you don't either, but give it a little thought before you post.

Examples:

Hard (they may be good ideas, but don't suggest something like this here, fignuts):

-CPU trading
-Goaline Stands
-Improved O-line
-An hour of new commentary
-Add championship banners to stadium
-New drills
-Substance abuse suspensions

Easy?? (Maybe this could work):

-Additional newspaper headlines/text for the already established topics (i.e. a couple of more "out for the season" or "I deserve to start" articles)
-Option to keep in-game banners but turn off Madden Challenge banners
-use nfl helmets for custom uniforms (even if you can't change the color)
-A couple of new Metro backgrounds for the stadiums
-A few new generic newspaper pics

Borderline (don't know how hard these would be):

-See past season stats in Franchise
-Actual game snapshots for played games in the Newspapers (still use the generic ones for simmed games)
-Realistic field width (assuming this doesn't slam the AI too much)

I don't know if this is sticky worthy, but the thread seemed like a good idea to me.

Now, my actual list of suggestions (including the examples from the thread starter)...and yes, most of these are for Franchise

-Additional newspaper headlines/text for the already established topics (i.e. a couple of more "out for the season" or "I deserve to start" articles)
-Option to keep in-game banners but turn off Madden Challenge banners
-allow use of nfl helmets (logos) for custom uniforms (even if you can't change the color)
-A couple of new Metro backgrounds for the stadiums
-A few new generic newspaper pics
-Roster limit of 53 and IR doesn't count against it (but does count against the cap)
-Preview button for "Create a stadium" mode
-Stadium select during preseason
-A couple of advertisements (real or fake) to reduce the number of Tiburon banners
-Reduce the # of QB injuries, especially those of 1 game or less
-A couple more haircuts in create-a-player
-2 injury sliders: 1 severity, 2 frequency
-Multiweek injuries seen as "out for game" until game ends (then you can see how bad it is)
-Ability to sort players by name and/or number on lists
-Highlight your players on multiteam lists (e.g. season stats)

Don't know if these are difficult or not:

-Accelrated clock only accelerated during a play and runs at 'normal' speed during play selection/before the ball is snapped ( I like the accelerated clock, but you have virtually no time to make changes at the LOS)
-Force defensive assignments to stick during man zone coverage (I said I wanted my CB1 on WR1 not on the FB!)
-Home crowd can increase oposing teams false start (based on attendance)
-See past season stats in Franchise
-Actual game snapshots for played games in the Newspapers (still use the generic ones for simmed games)
-Realistic field width (assuming this doesn't slam the AI too much)

I'm sure these suggestions would just require tweaking some values:

1.) More explosive offensive ball carrier moves like juking and spinning

2.) Players have less momentum and more cutting ability

3.) When running a certain percentage of your top speed, you can only jump so high, so if you are running at full 100% speed, you can only jump like 25% of your ability. This would require an algerbric equation something like y=m(x)+b, to make a trade off, not that complicated, again just values and 1 equation.

4.) Make the QB's arm strength greater, IMO it's too weak.

I like rosters to have a little less restrictions on them and maybe an introduction of a practice squad. Make changing a players position not such a hassel.

Lastly, make players actually block on punt returns. I hate having to call a fair catch every time will my guys stand there talking about having coffee after the game. I think EA should work on realism on the field. I still can't dive over the goal line for a TD with my QB or RB.

Postion Specific Auto Subs
- I would like to sub my Dline at a different pace than my secondary
- I would like to sub my WRs at a different pace than my HB's

Substitutions Before the Game
- I would like to make my subs before the game and have them stick. Even if it just works for 1 team, that would be great

Privacy
- I would like to keep my favorite playbook a secret when playing online.

In Franchise mode, should FA's really be asking for $1.5 mil in week 10? I should be able to sign them at league minimum. Maybe they could be flagged with the week they end up as an FA (starting with week 1) and their salary demands drop as the weeks go by or they drop to the minimum after a certain number of weeks

this is good stuff.....they need to make spin move a break tackle move...and less of a dodge move....RBS usually spin out of tackles more then to change direction.....

this is good realism ideas....how the players move and react!
