In-season recruiting

Forgive my naivity, but I'm now in my 3rd dynasty season and don't have any in-season points for recruiting. I was able to recruit during the season during my first year, but during the second and third I don't have any points.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to leave some points left over from the off-season recruiting?

Are you sure in season recruiting is enabled? Did you maybe mess with sliders and now you just can't do it. Look at your game setup and see if something has been changed
