Player connecting sporadic

When I log on, and go to the game setup screen, I very often have problems connecting to the other player. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I have my EA recommended ports open, and my PS2 in the DMZ.

When I get to the select team/options screen, sometimes I can hit 'ready' and get the blue check mark. Other times (frequently) it says 'connecting...' for me, or when I have the blue check mark, it always shows 'selecting options...' for the other guy.

Today, I hit play now and it gave me the same guy 2X. When I was home, I could get the blue check and he couldn't connect. When he was home, it was the reverse.

Does this just mean I am drawing guys with routers who have not configured them properly? Or is there something else going on entirely?

Its the ****ty *** EA servers. They are overloaded and cant connect you to the other guy.

50% of my "play now" screens say "connection lost" and wont let me get to the blue checkmark

I posted about the same thing a while back and I got the same responses.. it's an EA server problem. There's nothing wrong with ur connection.

happens to me all the time.... it has to be EA cause my connection is perfect.
