No more f#$@'n gimmicks! I.E. Trendy Music as opposed to tradition, HFA, and "Impact" players. When i turned the game on for the first time and heard "love you more than toast" as oppsed to Rocky Top or Hail to the Victors, i was dumbfounded. Madden already has the market cornered on this one. what the f$#% kind of sense does that song make anyway?
HFA just plain sucks. At least dont make it a must for a ranked game. Totally unfair advantage for the home team. And finally, i know im not the only one that gets pissed when you call the perfect play on defense and some friggin cheezer scrambles with marcus vick(or vince) and flattens 3 defensive linemen and your best linebacker on his way to a 30 yd TD run on 4th and 15 to win the game in OT.
this one isnt a gimmick but why the hell do recievers HAVE to drop so many wide open passes against zone coverage? i only try legit routes on 1st and 2nd b/c of this. if it's 3rd or 4th i just spread guys out and pitch it deep for the now infamous "user catch". Hence the slang term "loser catch".
also, fair play works by preventing certain plays in certain situations by blacking out select plays. Now, if there is a play similar to HB Direct next year can EA simply not just black it out at our request? Why cant they just do that right now or create some sort of patch/download that helps out our defensive AI. That play really pisses me off!

you can change the crappy hippie songs (yes, im talking to you The Clash) to the bands. i think it is somewhere in settings.

I always turn the menu music off. I hate the crappy songs, and the band playing over and over get monotonous.

not so sure this belongs here, it's more like a rant than a request. HFA is great, it's just done wrong. i've already come up with a way that it could still be effective, but you'd still be able to audible (it'd require you to be able to make a custom pb and set your audibles before jumping online, but any audible that is set pregame will be a hand signal, any quick on the fly audible would be vocal thus causing the "i didn't hear you" animation). Impact players are another good idea, just went wrong. maybe if there was a way to get your player the ball so much that they then begin pulsing. i agree with taking away the hb direct, either that or fix the AI on defense. i kinda like the user catch, makes you feel like you're intereacting with the game more. i just wish it wasn't so hard to do on defense.

i should have summarized my requests and i will after i make my main point. EA, please dont waste time on gimics(ie music, HFA, Impact) until all of the gameplay wrinkles are ironed out. The #1focus should be gameplay! fix retarded overall defensive and OL AI. Every year, those 2 things linger over from the previous season. Now on to my summary of things to fix. 1)traditional college band music 2)make passing more realistic by not dropping so many easy catches and stop making so many ridiculous user catches 3) make hot routes/audibles a possibility while on the road or just do away with HFA 4)do away with impact altogether... i mean seriously, do you really want to lose to some dip**** who scrambles with marcus vick and plows over your LB's to convert 4th and long. Also, something i didnt mention is stupid *** defenders. Why does the AI not recognize a scrambling QB and turn on the jets? Instead they just jog over and let vince turn the corner every time. spying is useless. no matter how fast the spy, he will always jog over and give up the outside if left to his own defenses.
However with that said.... yeah, i guess youre right about the user catch. it does feel pretty good to frustrate the opposition with stick skills. i guess im just frustrated b/c all to often i call the perfect pass play and the ball just bounces off of my reciever. then the next play i launch one into a 3 deep and get position via the "jump catch" by "attacking the bottom of the circle" and bring it in for a gain of about 50. thx

I'm gonna have to agree with dj on HFA and Impact Players- good in concept, EA just f*cked it up. The Impact Players are a whole lot less effective on Heisman and All-American, but I am getting tired of Impact HBs- they "hit the zone" and run 350lb DTs over. If they can tweek these a little they could turn into pretty cool aspects of the game. However, I would trade all of it for a good play/formation editor.

The scramblers do need to be toned down a ; Vick might be fast, but he's not going to burn 99 Speed DBs and he's not going to run over DTs/DEs/LBs.

What I would like is expanded presentation! The post-game and pre-game are pretty bad and VERY repitive. Also the bands ought to play more like in real college football, not just fight songs.

Impact players are pretty fun... but have big problems especially on higher diffs against comp impacters:

impact recievers and HBs can score a TD against the best defence just be getting into zone, even if they are only a 80 or so overall.

impact defenders do more damage than good alot of the time. Defence impacters have a nasty habit of doing personal foul--facemasks on people. THEY ARE THE GOOD PLAYERS SO THEY SHOULDN'T F*CK UP AND TACKLE BY FACEMASK... how many times I've got them stopped on 3rd and long... and they do a facemask giving a first down... great players those are...

PENALTIES!!! They are part of the game, but EA has taken them out... not the commiting of them tho. You can so easily pass interfere on defence or offence and players get clipped and held all the time without penalty... no false start either!
