I have had success with the following formations this year:
I Form
I Form Twin
Strong I
Strong I twin
SB Big
SB Normal
SB 4wr

I am looking to explore other formations especially good passing formations. I can run the ball pretty good from all the above formations but I'm looking for some other versitile formations where I can pass and run. Also, I really NEVER use SG and either use Oaklands PB or San Francisco. I'm think of Seattle because I do have a west coast type scheme. I here Near and Far are pretty good forms.

I really like strong I twin wr. This formation also has some good R3 audibles as well. Also weak I is nice especially with the R3 audibles.

As for shotgun, I have had the most sucess with Shotty 4 WR. It spreads the field out and gets some nice looks. I use the Giants and KC playbook my base play out of that formation is the slant play with the HB as the hot read. You can get a decent run out of the formation with the HB sweep play especially if you can get the passing game going.

My nod goes to the Far and Near formation in the Lions playbook. I think compression is where its at this year. However, I think this topic is very subjective but I found my base around these formations and have had lots of success with it.

I've had the most success with Detroit's Playbook. The FAR/NEAR-TightTwins formations are unbelieveable. Other than those 2, I've also had success with Singleback formations. I haven't used much I-Form or Offset I sets this year, though some of the Weak/Strong-I sets do have nice playaction plays.

We are exact opposites. I usually run well over 100 yards a game with Oakland's pb using the Strong and I Formations. Are you able to establish a good run game from the Far/Near sets? Would u say this PB is a speed HB or Power HB PB? Just some thoughts. I might have to try that PB out because my offense is schemed around a 2 back set and I'm looking for more formations with 2 backs. Would you recommend this PB versus a 46 defense?

Yep, and more importantly, it provides some great pass protection.

I keep trying the singleback tight flex. Could you give some pointers. Do you do a lot of formation shifts or audibles or just straight plays. I have been sticking with straight plays and not had much success passing or running. Any help.

Well I'm not going to garantee that you will run easier with the Far/Near sets from Detroits playbook, but these 2 sets do allow you to mix it up with running plays to both the HB and Fullback and it has a few counters and toss/sweep plays. The typical base running play from these formations would be the Near-"HB Inside" play, it's a nice play because you got the Fullback leading and you can either follow him up between the tackles or off-tackle depending on what you see. Only bad thing is you can't flip the running direction of the play, it's still a nice play though and can get you good yards sometimes especially if your able to take it outside. These 2 forms probably ain't as consistant as running out of I-Form or Offset Weak/Strong-I sets, but I think they can get the job done especially if the opponent tends to lean more towards a pass defense which is usually what happens since this formation is a big pass threat. Other than that, I like to run out of the Singleback formations in this playbook also. This Playbook can be used with any type of Halfback IMO.

BTW, you might also want to check out Seattle's Playbook if your interested in the Near/Far sets. Seattle's Playbook definitely has more running plays to choose from when it comes to the Near/Far which might be more your style, but I still like Detroits playbook a lot better when it comes to passing out of those sets.

Far, Near- Tight from DET PB, and SBack Normal, and Normal Slot.

That's exactly my style when I use Detroits Playbook. Of course the Far/Near are brutal. But that Singleback-Normal & Normal Slot are really really good and with formation shifts to TightSlots/TripsBunch and vice versa, even better. :D Those "Slam" running plays are great too.

Oh yeah definitely. I love the BIG sets out of Minny's playbook. Singleback-BIGWing is sick, as you can motion a TE into the backfield FB position to create a Offset-I look. :D It has been hard for me to decide between Singleback-BIG formations w/Minny's Playbook or Near/Far-TightTwins w/Detroits Playbook as I love both styles.

You can't form shift out of the SB tight flex, well at least not in the Tenn playbook I don't know about the NYG playbook. From the tenn book the passing offense basically steams off the threat of the fade paly and u can adjust the play how you want form there, but once they fear the fade it'll open up the rest of your offense. More space to run and such.

I might have to open up my passing game more. For some reason, I have not been able to at all this year. Last year I was able to spread it and run it or pass it at will. Maybe it's my PB or scheme. I did notice lately I have not used any hooks, slants or drags. I been using long developing passing plays. I'll take a look at the Seattle, Minnesota and Detroit PB's and pick one because my Raiders PB is too vertical for me and I can't seem to get the passing down.

Those Playbooks you mentioned are all great, good luck. BTW, if you like Minnesota's Playbook, you might also like Miami's and the NY Giants playbook. They have similiar Singleback sections.

I've always been an I-form fan but the R/P glitch kills it. I still like to run from I form twin TE though.

My favorites are singleback big and singleback big 3TE.

I love the mix of counter, toss, dive, plunge, and slam running plays with nice routes for the TE's since i have heap.

Single back big is my favorite by far.. since I don't really pass to my #2 TE i'll usually substitute a faster backup tackle there (in franchise I always draft Alex Barron for this purpose), and it works like a charm for run blocking and pass protection.

IMO, I Form Twins maybe the best Formation to pass and run. I checked out the Seattle PB tonite and I really like it. So many different packages for the Near and Far formations plus they have a preety good Near Close Form(I Think). Might have to try it online this weekend.

What are your favorite passing formations from this PB? I like using either SB Strong Slot, SB Normal or SB Big because I can either pass of run out of these formations.

I have to work on the SB Wing, SB Trip WR and SB Twin TE this weekend. Any suggestions? I think I should be able to figure out the SB Wing but the Trips WR always gets busted up when someone blitz's me or the SB Twin TE I can not pass effective out of! I do like the SB 4 WR formation.

Seattle is definatly one of my top 5 fav books.

Well, These are my top Five:
Oakland (Stuck on this PB since Early Oct)
San Francisco (underrated but can't get it going like I like too)
Jags (IMO very balanced) Good PB for offline
NYG (can easily run the ball out of this book esp. the I Form Twin)
Seattle (Will try and climb the list)

tight doubles out of seattle. I left this book for tennesee and came running back.... The options are sick it has in my opinion the best Singleback Normal, and an above average SB Big. Not to mention all the routes it has in Sb SLotstrong.....

It has a decent power run using the near big and the i form big, i miss my iform twin te.
it has 2 nice fades also

what PB are you using? for all those formations i was running st louis pb. sb trips wr is nice because, depending on their D, you can have a whole side of the field empty to run to. st louis pb is nice because you can formation shift every SB play into 4 wide spread, or trips wr. this means there are tons of different runs you can do out of those formations, always keeping the opponent off balance. the key is to decide if they are blitzing, and have a quick read to throw to, or choose a run that will blow the blitz up. the thing i really loved about stl PB is that they have some great spread formations with some nice running plays.

Well, Seattle has move past my Raiders PB after 2-3 days. I was looking for a PB that tears the 46 D apart and for me Seattle does the job. Either that or my play calling and play execution got much better. I might go back to Oakland with a fresher look next week but it's all Seattle for now. I tried Minny but that will take me at least a couple weeks to develop a good scheme with because it's missing a couple of my running plays. I do like there SB Big form but Seattle isn't that bad either. Still need to breakdown the Rams PB. I had ok success.

IMO, if you are going against the elite there's NO passing no matter which formation you use because they seen that formation and they are just watching the flashlight at that point.

I think it usually takes me like 3-5 games to learn the plays in a certain PB. Then, I can work on the formation shifting which I really need to do more of but that **** takes a lot of lab time IMO. I might pick up the compression PB when it's released. It's either that or the filmroom.
