Biggest thing i like is that manually catching actually improves your chances of pulling down a pass over a CPU defender. In the Xbox 1 version u could throw a precision pass up and the computer would be overly aggressive and come down with it. It almost was useless to try to manual catch in most situtions. On the 360 manuallying up is very benificial.

Yeah, I need to figure out the controls, maybe we can get a thread going on the controls?
Plus online has been laaaaaaaggy for me.

yeah I'm definately going to have to get some more time in on the manual catching. I just had a league game and I lost it on some balls that I should have pulled in. I like the less scripted feel to the game as well.

Def the playcalling options. It's a nice change-up to browse the play type menu instead of trying to remember which formation you've gotta choose to run a certain play.

LOVE the playcalling options.
Love the realistic animations....go instant replay slo mo and watch your WR watch and adjust to the ball...I had Reggie Brown slow down and lean back for a ball I threw a little behind on a crossing pattern.
I also like the stutter moves are more instinctive...the RB or WR will move AROUND the Def. player when you hit the button, not just jump randomly. This is a HUGE improvement.

Ive been playing a lot for about a week and not only have i got used to the controls but i think they could be the best layout yet. At first i was like why in the world did they put turbo as the R trigger, and now i couldnt see it being any other way.

I wish that they had an animation for the WR touching his second toe down...at least I haven't seen that happen yet.
I didn't realize that the juke was situational...that's really cool. It seems that whever I hit the Y button on the reg 06, the ballcarrier would not only tuck but go through the different break tackle or duck animations more readily.

Same here. I really like the new controls. Once you get used to them, they're awesome. I really like that LT switches the cone. Its just easier to hold down LT and have your other hand for the button of the WR rather than doing both with one hand, just feels better with the new way. Takes a little bit to adjust but once you do its a lot better.
But as far as difference from current gen...I like how it doesn't feel as 'scripted' as it does on current gen. In current gen there were games that seemed like no matter what you did, you were just going to lose. With this game I feel that as long as I play well I have a chance to win. Also, the gameplay is much better IMO. Just has a better feel to it. And of course the graphics, animations, and new presentation is off the hook.

I dunno man it seems like the computer goes outta its way to make a lop sided game go the other way and i absolutly hate it. About 3 times now ive had games where i was up 14 pts by the end of the 3rd quarter and they had some miracolous BS occur that screwed me.

The playcalling screens are my favorite so far...
The control scheme is also quite good... I am still learning though. Have any of you noticed that you can change any of the buttons you want to anything else? Now THAT is a nice touch.
One comment, I've noticed on D that having a defender in what would be "user pick range" in current-gen 06 seems to get the pass completed over your head in 360. Any tips from guys who've been playing a couple weeks?

Love the playcalling screens.
Love the individual crowd movements and generally graphics look great.
Also, I think the stick control is more refined - its seems to me I can both see the angles better, and get to them.

I like the fact that people cannot push UP every down on Offense....

In the 360 version can you do independent defensive audibles? For instance, can you audible one CB on Moss to play off and the other CB to bump and run, or put your safety into double coverage on a WR, etc...? Any of the independent defensive audibles in the old gen 06? Is there an owner mode or is it only franchise? If so, how many years is the Franchise mode? Did they take out that worthless superstar mode? How are player progressions? Sorry for all the questions, I only ask because I just got a 360 and I am debating on whether or not I should get the 360 version or stay with my PS2 one. Thanks!

In the 360 version can you do independent defensive audibles? - NO. See other thread that I started and you can get a decent summary of what you can do on defense.

The games are different - many features are "missing" from the 360 version. However, even with some of the warts on the game, I really like it a lot. The run/pass glitch is gone, the money high pass is gone. Those two features sucked a lot of the joy out of the PS2 game for me. Fair play is either gone, or off by default - which can be a blessing and a curse, though I generally like that it's gone.

Excellent post..I feel the same way..Especially about the run pass glitch and people pushing UP every damn down when passing on Offense..
