View Full Version : Salary cap question.
Im pretty new to this whole franchise thing so I was wonderin if one of you catz could tell me something. In franchise mode when playing does the salary cap of the team increase each year and also do I get more money after each season. I was trying to buy a corner back, but I didn't have enough room in my salary cap.

the salary cap grows each year, but so does players salary demands, so that doesnt always help.
If you have a profitable team, yes you will have money at the end of the year. usually the purpose of the gained income, is for staidum upgrades, hiring trainers, coaches, new stadiums, etc...
The profitablility of your team, doesnt always co-incide with your ability to sign players...
Try cutting unwanted player with lolw penalties, and resigning players your gonna keep for the long haul to 7 year bonus heavy, salry low contracts.

Thanks. One more thing. When you say profitable team do you mean if my team is winning games. I guess what im trying to say is that the more championships I win, the more money I get at the end of the year to use to buy players with an increased salary cap? Thanks in advance.

Every team in the leauge kind of has the same amount of money to work with, regarless if they are making tons of money, or even losing some for a year or two.....
The money youll have available to pick up free agents is directly related to your cap space, not how much cash your team has.
Everyones salary cap is the same, and raises the same amount each year.
so if its 300m this year for EVERY team, its maybe 305M next year
I would say have close games, win or lose, you want attendance, paired with a little bit of advertising and ticket price balancing
Make sure you prices are leauge averages, not higher, maybe throw in a fan appreciation day in there, win some close games... obviously you get a big bonus for winning the SB, but youll have more holdouts and salary demands, all that extra money, is good for hiriing expensive coaches, luxury upgrades...

it seems almost impossible to go bankrupt unless you go under .500, at least way under. i think stadium upgrades are a complete waste of money because in 10-15 years you have to build a new stadium anyways, whether it be for more seats or the old one got old. after all the times ive rebuilt a stadium my team has never gone red even just making a 15-25 mil profit at the end. i dont quite get it, but whatever

once you start winning games, and get into the playoffs, you can raise ur ticket prices and still have high attendance.
