Interceptions...

Hey guys I just got my 360 this morning:).... But I've been playing all day and I'm having ALOT of difficulty intercepting the ball!! I was very good at user picks in ncaa 06, and in madden 06 on regular xbox. But now I cant even get one!!! I hit the strafe button to turn back to the ball (LT) button and then (Y) and it jus swats teh ball down... IF it even swats it....

Do I just have to hit Y???

I'm having success intercepting passes by not using the strafe. I've intercepted a number of deep balls just by running to the ball and pressing "Y". I always had problems squaring up for the int before. I just never seemed to be able to judge exactly when to turn. I think it's more realistic in 360. Running to the ball and sticking your hands out is more realistic.

check the manual I think intercept pass is a different button..

It is still primarily "Y", but it does note that "X" works as well. X is normally the dive option, but I guess when engaged in coverage and the ball is in the air X will make an attempt to intercept the ball as well. Not a bad option since it seems the AI will decide if a dive or an int opp is warranted.

I guess you just gotta hope you guess right whether to push x or not... if cpu decides to dive... then your really screwed!!
