I don't understand why the NCAA Football series is stuck with generic representations of college coaches. Surely something can be worked out to allow the Joe Paternos and Bobby Bowdens of the world to be featured in this series. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe NCAA March Madness has actual coaches in the game. I could be wrong, though, as I played that game for rougjly 15 minutes before putting it back in the rental case and returning it to my local Blockbuster.
Back to the point, wouldn't it be nice to have coach ratings like in Madden? Perhaps even have real playbooks from these coaches instead of more generic features? I realize there are over 100 teams, but with a bit of work, this should be easy to accomplish. I'm not asking for a feature like Madden where you have 4 coaches per team. I just want to see a sweatervest-clad Jim Tressel controlling the sidelines when I use my beloved Buckeyes or Steve Spurrier pacing back and forth with his visor and playcall sheet in South Carolina.

Good to see you again BTG!
I'd be happy even if we get some more diversity in the clothing selections for coaches. How about a tie and hat ala Bear Bryant or Woody Hayes? Or how about this, its customary that the Hawai'i coach wear a lei for good luck on game day (in the spirit of Aloha the visiting team's coach is usually offered one as well), why can't I get a lei?
Some coaches look like slobs on the sidelines, like the track suit with the swoosh on it is the only thing they can wear.

Real coach names will never happen with NCAA laws.

What specific rule(s) are you talking about? I'm not aware of any NCAA rules restricting coaches' income.

I would actually love to see coaching changes. Old coaches retire, coaches resign or get fired, assistants becoming HC. There are too many teams to have position coaches, but it would be possible to have Off and and Def coordinators. In college, the assistants are often as important as the HC. It would be great to hire or fire an assistant that's not getting the job done. Each coach could have his own recruiting rating tied to the performance of his unit. I`m sorry but in the year 2015 Bobby Bowden won`t be walking the sidelines at FSU. Assistant coaches would be a great addition to NCAA football.

Heck no Coach k would be in the poor house if that's the case
I think the problem though may lie in the fact that each coach would own his own image rights and most college coaches have agents. Unlike striking a deal with the NFLPA for instance there is no college coach association they could negotiate with that can give them rights to individual coaches likeness.
Hey EA's already been sued for infringing on Mascot Images. (http://khon.com/khon/display.cfm?storyID=6815§ionID=1155)
So they're probably going to be really careful about coming to close to doing an exact lookalike of the Ol' Ball Coach.

I'd like to know how much that guy got out of that lawsuit. This world has become a sad place to live in. Everyone is always out to get money out of someone else.

They should do whatever it takes to get the coaches and let you import them into Madden. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to import Kirk Ferentz or Bob Stoops into your franchise?

Reportedly he was asking for $45,000 dollars . If he settled he could have gotten more or less (a lot less, maybe he got a free video game). I certainly understand and agree there are those who abuse the legal system (the wendy's chili finger people), but I also understand the opposite side. You work hard to create something, and then somebody uses it without your permission.

I'd also like to save my coaching records from one dynasty to the next, so that if I restart a dynasty I don't loose all my past records.

OC and DC coordinators are an excellent idea. you should be able to hire one with an abilty that is connected to the offseason points. they should also specialize in one position.
20% coaching points= above average offensive coordiantor.
