How many years do you generally have to play to reach the Hall of Fame?

idk...i had a QB that i played with for about 15 years...threw over 500 Tds and 60000 yds but didnt make the hall of fame

ive had hall of fame stats as well and never got anywhere. ive also heard you can get into the hall of fame but never seen evidence of it. when i retired, they retired my jersey... i had a QB i forced to stay in the league 20 years til they made him retire. started off 94 spd ended up like 67 haha. he never had terrible stats either.
