is there anyway to turn man lock off???

When playing the CPU, I see some cases where my Def assignments get messed up. If you look at the coaching cam, my LCB will be assigned to the right deep zone and the RCB will be assigned to the left deep zone.

Anyone else experience this? Anyone have a solution??

THe solution is wait for '07. I'm on to my third batch of annoying problems with this game. Like not being able to control your own player on D at the snap of the ball. Sometimes my controlled defender will jab step toward the ball immediately on the snap even though I'm pressing an holding up on the L-stick and not touching the R-stick. Apparently everyone on line loves to exploit this too. And why the hell can't you select a player on the punt cover team until the balls nearly in the returner's hands. I've been able to physically down the ball inside the 10 only once.

Biggest annoyance of the moment...can you make a play on the ball while holding the turbo? I never seem to be able to knock the ball down when I'm behind on the play. Is this just a timing issue or can you only hit one button at a time (i.e. R-trigger followed by A button instead of R-trig + A button)?

But back to your problem, try hitting A-button and right to align your corners. I think I've seen this happen before. Your corners will cross the field and run into each other about 20 yards past the LOS...it's like having Keystone cops in deep coverage. :)

Try looking at the play calling screen. On the left hand side there should be a box with packages and ask madden inside it. At the top is an option to turn man lock on or off by pressing a specific button. Do this before you select your play and it might be better.

I feel you bud. I often end up with my CB defending against a TE. Dumb cause everyone knows a SS should mark a TE! The corner will just not be able to tackle a TE. He always get bumped off! Sometimes pressing the audible coverage and right on the left analogue will sort it. that's another option to try when man lock is on.

thanks for the input guys!!

I'll look into turning the man lock off feature....

i think i tried the coverage audible (a) left or right to "Align" but the deep coverage zones were still all tripped out.... with there deep coverages completely crossing... lcb covering the right deep zone and the rcb covering the left deep zone

HittinAgenda,

do you mean moving to the ball after the snap, like the regular madden on the fake blitz coverage??? were you fake blitz coverage audibling when it happened??

thanks again

Naw, it happens no matter what I do. I use the Broncos and I'm convinced it's just the rookie DBs that do it...must be an awareness rating thing, but is it really necessary to force on the user-controlled defender??? If the corners are out of position at the snap of the ball, how can you ever expect to stop the deep patterns? Watching Dominique Foxworth trying to cover the X receiver today, I'm convinced that the AI programmers got this little annoyance spot on since he was out of position ALL DAY LONG

H.A.,

I saw it yesterday, I was controlling a linebacker and it made me move the opposite direction that I wanted to go... without the fake blitz...

I have not found the Man lock off feature...

I found out that the coverage crossings that I was seeing was due to flipping the play either at the play calling screen or before the snap...

for instance... dime zone blitz flipped the LCB and RCB want to cover the complete opposite side of the field then they are on...

if i call the play then flip it before the snap the same thing.... i noticed the reflipping the play wont fix it the only way to fix was to audible reset ( X LT)
