Having control of your player

I just bought Madden 06 and I am playing in the superstar mode. Is there a reason I can only control my superstar or is that the way this mode was created....My last game wouldn't let me play at all. All I could do was pick the play and when the ball would be hiked.

Sounds like your setup is in coach mode. This means that you just call the play and the CPU does the rest. To change this go to SETTINGS and look under GAME OPTIONS. Under DIFFICULTY there is another box labelled GAME MODE.
There are 3 settings:
1. Coach (what you just described)
2. Player (where the CPU calls the plays and you run them)
3. Classic (where you call the plays and do them) That's the one you want so just click on the arrow till you get it to come up.

Try that it should work.

I guess when I was adjusting the settings I turned the coach mode on, thanks. That was driving me crazy.

No problewm enjoy your gaming. How is your superstar doing? Mine has gotten one of three goals. The others might be tough. He has to play 16 games and win 13 as a quarterback. he hasn't been injured yet so hopefully that'll continue!
