Greetings

I have just recently started playing Madden 06 and I have a few question about how to play the game. I understand that I should get a gamepad to play it with but until then I am stuck with mouse/keyboard. I am having a hard time figuring out how to move around once I get the ball as either a HB WR or punt/kick retuner.

For the punt/kick returner it seems to me that after the kick by the time the ball is caught by my return man the defense is there already to tackle me and a get nothing for the returns, also on this i seem to fumble the ball alot when I get hit on these plays. I have taken to just not trying to control the returner and let the comp do that. Also how do you signal a fair catch?

Next question is this, I started playing in NFL superstar mode, I cannot seem to understand how practice works to increase my players abilities. I created a HB, when I go to the practice field, my player is never used, how do I increase his game if he won't get on the practice field?

My HB was drafted in the 3rd round by the Bengals, I have played them so far as the 7th game in the regular season, my current record is 6/1/0, is there anyway I can get my player that I created more game time? I have played maybe 2-3 plays in each game except for one where I didn't play at all. For the past 4 weeks of regular season game all i have done is practice, practice/gameplan, practice/gameplan and the gameplan before the game on sunday. What actual effect does the gameplan mode have on my character for the game? Does it improve my stats in some way? because it doesn't say so that I can find.

Another thing with practicing, I have taken to just simming the practices because I can't seem to get a handle on how to run them efficiently. I get that you score points for moving the ball towards the endzone, completing passes and scoring TD's and such, but is there a good method to doing practice? Like should I run alot of plays and hope to score more points? or just run a few plays and try to get a high avg. or points?

And the last thing that I am wondering about, is my cellphone, it seems to me that I get alot of repeat messages from TD, I can see the usefulnes of the players of the week and stuff, but for a while right before the regular season everyday he would send me the message that I had dropped to thrid string, why the many messages with the same message? Is there anything I can do with my agent besides going into his oiffice to complain about stuff and guarentee wins? I see all the options there but, does he do anything at all?

I know this is long, but I am trying to understand this game, I really enjoy playing the game but it is getting frustrating for me not knowing about some of the higher functions of the game that I could use to make me play better and smarter.

Thanks in advance for any responses (except for you flamers and trolls)

i havent played superstar in a while because its BS compared to franchise but:

the punt return is something that was answered in franchise a couple days ago. they said just create an audible that switches you from punt block to punt return and vice versa, because the comp changes based on what you came out as. switch to the returner and press the equivalent of ps2's triangle, which the person also said is standard button number 4 on comp. another thing is, get a ps2 or xbox, or 360.

i dont think i remember practice too much, but i do remember the gameplan. if you do poorly at the gameplan your oppenent will mess you up ive noticed, at least within those plays.

i dont think practice does jack for you, superstar is total BS filler. just sim them as youve been doing. your HB is not being used most likely because you need to change your depth chart to have him in the number 1 spot. that option is in the computer thing.

if in practice you run the minimal amount of plays and have a good average then quit out of there because it can only go down from there.

agent gets you movie deals in the off season and if you get good enough you can switch to a btter one with access to the performance institute which will give you better stat points for the next game you play. this is the only thing you should be doing before games if you have access. otherwise, do the gameplan and do well.

the best advice i can give you is learn how to play franchise because superstar is total crap.
