They need an option to where you can adjust the quarter length for when the cpu simulates the computer games. Because while you may only be playing 5-6 minute quarters the computer is still playing 15 minute quarters.

This really effects the stats which in turn will effect the recruiting process. For instance if you only play five minute quarters even if your defense is really crappy it will still be rated as one of the top defenses in the country. And even if your offense is outstanding it will still be rated as one of the lowest ranked offenses in the country. All simply because your defense isn't out on the field as long as the computer team defenses are. And your offense isn't out on the field as long as the computer offenses are.

This in turn effects recruiting because I think recruits really look at how highly rated your offense and defense is when they are looking for schools to go to. So for me it has been pretty easy to get 4-5 star defensive players but at the same time I really have to push to get a few 4-5 star offensive players during a recruiting year.

This all could be fixed if they let you adjust the quarter lengths of the simmed games in which the cpu goes through. Maybe there is an option somewhere but I havn't seen it.

5:00 quarters are specailly geared to simulate the stats that come out in a 15 min quarter simulated game.

simply put:

5:00 quarter user game is exactly the same as a 15:00 quarter simulated game.

i think this is what the thread was about.

I get realistic stats on 10 minute quarters.

Of course, on the settings I play on, its absolutely crucial to run the clock and keep the CPU off the field, or you'll risk giving up 45 a game. So, it all balances out.
I wish there was an accelerator clock though, like in Madden.

I play on 10 minute quarters too. But I run the play clock down to :01 before I snap to keep it realistic. If I didn't do that, the CPU and my own team would be running like 100 plays each on offense. I usually average about 55-65 offensive plays which is about what a real team would run.

The thing is, even with simmed 15 minute quarters you still get a lot of messed up stats from the CPU. There were times that I've simmed teams that had a 70/30 pass/run ratio and my QB still only had like 33 attempts. And the game wasn't even a blowout.

If you play 10 minute quarters though it would take close to 2 hours to get through the game. I play 5 minute quarters and it takes around 50 minutes to an hour to get through a game.

Some of us aren't interested in playing 40 games a Week anymore. :D

Sometimes it does. But I try to stay inbounds as much as possible to keep the clock running. If I'm using one of my spread option teams the games can last as little as 1 hr 15 min.
