Generating heat with the cards

Can someone give me some tips on how to generate heat with lower ranked teams? When playing against sub 80 teams, I usualy play the cards, but i can't seem to get penetration without putting up a sign that says ENGAGE 8 COMING! :eek: A good player is gonna pick up on that and I am going to get burned 80% of the time. I play the 4-3 book.

Any advice would be helpful.
