Dan Marino? What did he do in his career? He was the Peyton Manning of the 80's and 90's. Yeah he owns all the records but 0 rings and he'd suck in the playoffs.

I said they sucked in the playoffs, in the regular season they're the best ever. Give me 3 great games that Marino had in the playoffs and give me the stats. That's why I'll pick anyone who won a SB over Marino, even Trent Dilfer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your opinion on this matter is slightly ignorant.
it takes a team to win.... sometimes the best qb didnt have the best teammates.
I would take marino on the 2000 ravens over dilfer. this is the best players at the position. not who won superbowls.

hawker u are absolutely correct, who the hell in thier right mind would take dilfer over marino, even if he didnt win the SB. u said it yourself he has records, so apparently he is a great qb. what if he had the game of his life, threw 20 td passes in a SB game, and the other team scored jsut as many, and then what if the RB for the fins fumbled and it got returned for a TD and they lost the SB. would u say marino is worse than dilfer because he didnt win that game even though he threw 20 tds?

and alos guys, how am i gunna do the stats for these players and sign them without going over the cap?
should i go to a different profile, and go to the roster of a team like texans or something, and change name and attributes?
Or check my full list with all positions filled and show me where I'm wrong. ;)
I'll take that team to war and destroy any team out there.

if nobody has anything to argue about, i guess i will start getting attributes together
i will leave the arguing up for 1 day and then i will start getting attributes for players
3 guys I disagree with...
FB Alstott
I'd take Darryl Johnston or Tom Rathman over Alstott as they were both better blockers, had good hands and have alot more SB rings then Alstott, or you could go real old school with Bronco Nagurski
TE1 Antonio Gates
Gates has 1 great year and 1 good year, no way you can annoint a guy who's had 2 good years as the best ever. Kellen Winslow was Sharpe/Gates before they were around and is still respected as the greatest TE of all time in football circles
WR3 Michael Irvin
Isn't in the Hall of Fame and didn't put up dominant numbers even when he did play. The only talent he had was the ability to push off and not get caught. I'd go Art Monk the more I think about it, best WR to play that isn't in the Hall for some stupid reason I can't understand. Fred Biletnikoff, James Lofton, John Stallworth are all way more worthy as well.

just load up one of the classic teams. All youll need is someone to tell you when the person was in their prime year.
ex. Montana.... 1989 Niners. load up the 1989 niners and look for the 99 OVR QB. Copy him.

Barry sanders has to be above Walter Payton. Payton was good, but he had a much better offense to go along with during his career.
Also, what's the average age of readers/posters here? I can't see posting for guys we've never seen play except in highlight reels, or are just reading off some classic football players list.

Anybody who says "how many Super Bowls did he win?" when evaluating a qb knows nothing about football. Marino and Elway were about equals. I can't comment on Unitas or the older guys, I never saw them play. The greatest wr I ever saw was Charlie Joiner. At the skill positions I will go with:
QB- Dan Marino
rb- Walter Payton
wr- Charlie Joiner
wr- Randy Moss
te- Kellen Winslow
