We're still too close to George's presidency to tell where he'll fall in history. My guess is he'll be seen as average or there abouts. Being president during the era of 9/11 will certainly cast a spotlight on him, but it remains to be seen if his actions regarding terrorism will bring increases or decreases in our security over the next decade. If Iraq falls to pieces in the next 5 years or so, he'll get blamed for that. if a real democracy comes out of it in the next ten, he'll get credit for that.
On the economy and social issues, he'll probably be forgotten, like the dozens of other presidents I can't name. Anybody remember much about Ike? Can you remember anything in particular that Ford did? Carter? Nice guys but of historical significance?

George Bush,
Great president or greatest president?
what kind of question was that to ask me? lol
probably great guy to go drinkin with, but a lousy president (just look around at our country's situation - ya don't need me to tell ya he has not been very good for us - we're pretty well-hated these days for his aggression - wouldn't wanna be an American overseas, that's for sure)
:D
You are in good status when your people can freely travel teh planet without fear of a car bomb or being kidnapped solely for being an American
.
rank is dumb

yea, a great President would also go by the Constitution, not go behind closed doors to break it... that puts him in a fascist sector of the political realm as well.. so, i guess it depends on whether you like fascism or not - personally, i do not.

LOL...now that's comedy. In case you missed it, the 22nd amendment limits the prez to two consecutive terms. dubya could come back in four years but in Jan 09, he'll be headin back to texas.

Well, you probably wouldn't be alone. There's a fair number of Bush fans on these boards (that's Bush with a capital B, but there's a heck of a lot more fans around of the bush with a small b :D )

Are you calling Jack Bauer a fascist?
Jack was not President, he is a fictional character on a TV show :)
This thread reminded me that I've gotta call George now and see if he's available to go have a beer.

Fascism like telling people to report those who disagree with the president to the White House? Or fascism like Bill O'Reilly being audited 3 times in three years while Clinton was in office? Or fasicm like Obama "reinterpreting" the law in order to allow for the same indefinate detention of detainees that he lambasted Bush for?
