What is sad is that this thread has more content than most of the half baked story 'chise threads.

Here, Ill give this thread some meat. Make a poll stating whether or not you miss the Madden 04 cheerleaders!

Doesn't everyone miss the cheerleaders? Ok, I know that they all looked the same and animated cleevage is not all that exciting, but come on, its just not football without cheerleaders!

must.. get.. smarter.. to.. bring.. up.. average.. IQ.. in.. this.. forum.. which.. is.. painfully.. low
In all seriousness, I feel like there's been so much clutter over the past month or two.. its not as bad as the Strategy Forum.. yet. If only there was a way to encourage people to use the "search" function on the forum.. everyone asks the same questions at the beginning, starting a new thread each time.

I dunno, but do you have the slightest idea how to add custom teams into franchise mode on the PC? or where to get the madden editor? how to use the madden editor? who has an EA locker where I can download draft classes from?
Hold on, I'm off to ask the other forum users to give me stats for created players that I can make and put in a franchise and then never use.

Does anyone know what'll happen to my starting QBs morale if I bench him and put in my 2nd stringer??
... wait ... hold on ... I just realized something. If I save my franchise to my memory card .. then take out the card (to ensure no autosave kicks in!) but keep the franchise on, and do what I am wondering about (but sim the games to make this test quick and effective) I will likely have the answer to my own question in like 5 minutes!!!!
I'M A GENIUS!
And even better .. I will *NOT* clutter up the VG Franchise Forum with yet another pointless POST!!!!
P.S. - I think very few people actually read my franchise threads .. and there actually is some content to 'em.

I think lots of people in this forum follow your Falcon 'chise, including me.. it's far and away the most viewed thread in this forum that's not a sticky. I'll admit, I often forget to check up on your Syracuse dynasty, just because I usually never surf the NCAA forums.. and your VG Prospect threads are undoubtedly popular because they're one of the two member-involved threads which has been followed through on (hawkers Browns chise being the other).
I'll admit, ever since my Redskins 'chise was corrupted, I haven't been all that that loyal to my two franchises after that (all-defense and Chargers). They just got boring quickly.. I ended up deleting the Chargers 'chise completely because it was way too easy with Gates. I've realized its really hard to keep up a franchise if you aren't using your favorite team, one that you're genuinely interested in. I may end up starting over on the 'Skins 'chise sometime soon.
Btw, I found this awesome cheat! You can trade your 1st round pick for the worst team's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounder.. even if they have a worse record than you! It's awesome!

Eh .. well I know some people read it. I talk to them on AIM a lot.
I think what I meant was that the content drives the majority away. It's sometimes too much.. only the dedicated board members with half an interest are going to take the time (all of 5 minutes, if that) to read the updates that get posted every 2 to 3 days. Heh, it's not even like I update the thing daily, due to the other threads/projects I'm doing. I don't have that much free time on my hands.
Anyhow, that was the point. I'm actually content with the few readers that are loyal. And all in all, I do the thing for myself .. and because the Falcons are my favorite team. I like going back and reading stuff every now and then.
You're right, it's a lot easier to use your favorite team. And it's a lot easier to stay real, with your GM decisions and coaching moves. When especially familiar with the roster, all of a sudden things become that much more deeper .. they'll stand out as more than just names and a bunch of numbers representing them. I think this is where most people go wrong, with just using any old team. And, of course, they play the game as a game. Which is fine -- but that's how it gets boring so easily (I think this is why a new franchise pops out every Week for some people). I play the game like I'm the actual GM and base my moves on what I've known about Mora, Blank and McKay (basically all the guys in charge of Atlanta's Offseason moves the past 3 years). That's how I make it interesting to keep it going. Not to mention .. I write a lot in between games, and it often builds suspense. Not just to readers, but to myself as well. By the time I actually sit my @ss down to play a game, I'm so fired up it's ridiculous. Just like I am during every NFL Sunday in real life. Suddenly everything counts a bit more than usual. Every play. Every pass. Every penalty. Every trade. Every release. Every million under the cap.
You should use your favorite team .. the 'skins. You've written a couple of impressive Franchises. I actually would rather follow a user's favorite team franchise than anything else, because I know they'll take care of their decisions and GM moves a lot more cautiously than they would with any old team. .. just make sure you crank up those sliders this time around, to avoid another Chargers/Gates incident.
What I like the best about my own Franchise(s) is that I play with the CPU Sliders jacked right up to the max. And they cheat. And they pull all kinds of sh*t. And they, at times, beat me senseless. But, I'd rather lose here and there (or all the time when I first take over a really bad team to rebuild) than always go 16-0 and turn every season into a "try to get these stats" type of a challenge. Christ I've gone 4-12 countless times upon taking over one of the NFL's worst, 12 years into a Franchise. I break 14 controllers, but I deal. I have fun drafting high for a change. I love the challenge.
I try to make it like the real thing .. man. It's fun that way. Otherwise I get bored. :(
Now about that member Franchise you had in mind .. can I make five 6'7", 160lb bean pole dudes, all with different colored afros, and each with a QB jacket? You can play them where ever you want! Ooops .. I forgot stats on 'em .. well actually I'm too lazy to post 'em. Check back later.

Hey man, if you only have 1 reader, keep posting. I don't personally read yours, but I have seen it and can tell you put a lot into it. That's what we're all here for. I'm sure some, maybe many, find my chise thread boring, because I never post stats, just storylines, but it's an outlet for me after a busy day. I'm glad for that people read, because that does make you feel good, like someone's actually interested in what I'm doing in my chise.
I actually go to sleep at night thinking about my chise! That's how much this relaxes me.
I guess my point is, do it for you man. This is all fun, for all of us. If some people like what you do, that's a bonus. But don't stop doing what you like, even if no one reads. Like you said, do it for yourself. We all gotta have some fun in life!

Hey Blized, your Falcons chise has over 2,000 views. That's pretty good for a chise, seeming as how most chises only last 3-5 games...no names please.
I think the Dirtybirds chise is the best one I've seen. The gameplan stuff, the half-time interviews and aftergame interviews all rock. Don't let up, dude.:)

I like your work, Blitzed. You sure put a lot into it. I do check up on your Falcons chise and I've been reading your Syracuse dynasty to see how my adopted son Backer is doing. I swear, if that boy doesn't get at least 1000 yds and 12 tds he's sleeping in the cellar with the barbells this summer.
I don't know if anyone reads my Steelers thing (I know Samnc and Blitzed sometimes do), but I'm sure amusing the hell out of myself with it. I put some weird things in it, but it's kind of ended up as a creative outlet for me. I guess it's not a typical franchise thing and maybe it's out of place and part of the clutter, I dont know. Anyway, if you guys feel it should go just let me know...PM me or whatever. I get as annoyed as anyone about all the nonsense and clutter, so I dont want to be contributing to it and be too dumb to know it. :)
I've been reading you Steeler's 'chise MLB. Yours, Blitz's, Lost prophet's are one's I follow that I can think of off the top of my head. Keep it up man, I've been reading and enjoying. Landon Curry rules. If he ever gets tired of Pittsburgh let me know, I think the Pack can make room for him...we could use some attitude on D.

Heh .. I read most anything with some content to it. GB36's, MLB58's, SamNC3's, Realhawker's stuff, and Rhyth's when he had 'em up. Usually.
I just don't have the time to read 'em all every day, so I kinda pick one when I'm sitting down for 15 minutes, and concentrate on updating myself 1 - 2 'chise threads at a time.
