Accused of Cheating

How many of you guys have been accused of cheating by cheezers or str8 players when you beat them by using strategies you learn from the VG filmroom and the message boards? I beat a ranked player 21-3 with my 38-40 record (him the titians and me the packers). He used the goalline to run George with and this was covered a week or two ago in the filmroom. The strategy stopped him well. He then had 2 pass plays over 2 games which he ran the other half of the time which I easily stopped. He never punted and he kicked one field goal(which I am sure killed him to do). He couldn't believe someone with a below .500 record could hold his own in this game. I won the first game 38-30 and the second 24-3. By the way he always went for 2 and never kicked an extra point. I had 150 and 100 yards rushing on him. I played him st8 against his cheeze and won with my game plan and he never adjusted his. The only thing i did which could be called cheeze is me using the onside kick formation to squiv kick to prevent a kick return for a touch down because my kick coverage sucks. Both times I did it was the 4th quarter is a horrible wind in my face. I kicked it all the way down the field and he returned both to his 40. Normally he would't have gotten there with a normal kickoff. I basically was conceding field position to gaurd against a return fo TD. He called this cheating because he didn't know how to do it. Now if some of you wanna call this cheeze I can accept it but it was like a squiv kick in the NFL. And I was already playing against a cheeze king! Anyways my name online is Littlewong76. I am learning alot and I want to improve my game up to a respectable level. This happened to me in a leauge. I was using the Browns he had the Colts. First game of the season I was winning 24-10 with 3 min to go. He all of the sudden out of the blue asks me what connection I have. I told him cable he said no way with all this lag. Why because he was going to lose and he motion glitched the whole game and ran goalline the whole game. Some people just can't handle losing to str8 players. Needless to say I was kicked out of the league because he claimed I cheesed. I feel ya man.

Almost everytime I disquise the BNR or use and enhanced zone I get accused of cheating. Everytime you dump a ball out in the flats nowdays you get accused of some type of glitch or something.

yup I get it this weekend when I used KOBRAS run-n-gun stragtey.. Cheater, Glitcher..etc and controlled the ball 14 minutes in the game.. wasnt milking the clock but was running motion to figure out zone or man choosing the reads and using short passes to keep the chains moving..

What really seems to piss people off is when you pass to a guy in motion.. damn.. doesn't that happen in the NFL..?

Well... Yes Willy, there is motion in the NFL, but in the NFL a defensive players mental adjustments can be made on the fly vs the predetermined reaction given by the AI inherent in Madden. In the NFL a player DB CAN motion with a receiver across the formation (without having a 2 step lag behind the receiver) and STILL play zone coverage... I've done it in real life (not on the nfl level).

I know that motion seems fair, and in many ways it is, but that's why most leagues let you motion, but you need to be set before the snap of the ball... this greatly reduces the effectiveness of the motion offense that so many players are proud of. I played a guy who motioned against me every play and only ran 2 plays the whole game, and threw the ball to one of two players... he won by a touch down, because I fumbled the opening kick off, anyway... You and he may feel like he is the superior baller, because he knew how to manipulate unrealistic AI, but I take more pride in outsmarting my opponent with superior play calling.

I think the essence of the game is to play football, not glitch. I probably feel this way because I've played so much real football in my life and I actually love the strategy of it, I just wish there was some true way to measure if a potential online player shares these ideals before engaging in an hour long glitch fest... I'm done :)

I agree 100%. I played some real cheezy football this weekend. As a matter of fact, one of them is in this room...khandy29. I know there are people who like to push the limits of software. While others (it would seem a minority these days)are trying to be more realistic, true and noble to the game, like myself. I hope his/her inquiry of the filmroom will keep him/her from doing 4 to 5 audibles at the line on almost every play, waiting for me to get out of formation with my audibles then run/pass. It got so predictable that I literally audibled the formation before he did his audible and it made him pause...but he continued on with the charade.

But while I criticize, I will also help. To get to the VG filmroom, you need to go to www.maddentips.com. and click on the link for the filmroom. It costs, but for a year's membership and valuable information, it is worth it.

The other cheezer, used the Packers. I think he used only 3 plays. Goalline, Trips bunch, and, uhmm...yeah, audible back to goalline. Of course, I didn't find a way to slow him down until it was too late.

Funny, I post that I want a str8 game and this kinda stuff comes up...oh well, I gotta learn to play the game in someone else's backyard sometimes.

Actually I find playing a str8 game with the vikes easy cuz most people are just defending Moss. I don't mind getting beat by anyone I just like to play people with class. Kewl, Littlewong76. I use vikes too, but still have as yet to exploit their potential. I'm gonna have to start using other teams too. I had used the Chiefs, will probably go back to them. I don't know the glitches yet so I don't have any idea of what I'm looking for. I think a bunch of certain audibles is one of them.
What time are you usually on? Normally after 9 pm most days.

I don't think im a superrior player.. If I passed to the motion guy all the time you can easily stop it by gettin up on top of the receiver and nipping it in the bud.. Motion exposed D coverage. creates overloads and diversions.. I think guys who have problems with it don't want to work on D.. This is alot better then the cheezers who drop back 20 yARDS on every pass play..

I agree that most players don't want to work on D. Of all the defenses I see regularly, Man Cover 2 and Cover 2 zones DOMINATE most players defensive playcalls. Rarely do I see zone blitzes or hybrid man/zone coverages (unless I'm running them).

There are so many defeses in the 4-3 playbook that I still have trouble understanding how anyone can make the argument that the defensive AI has problems. I don't have those same AI issues, and I play with the same AI. I guess using every defense has something to do with my success and other's failures.

There is a difference between a "glitch" and an "annoyance." Most people tend to think they are the same thing. Glitches CANNOT be countered. Annoyances can.

The Camera glitch... is a glitch. It can't be defended using X's or O's.

It's annoying to have to defend a WR from the TE position. It's annoying to run plays against BNR every play. It's annoying to defend receiver stack (when the ball is snapped when an eligible receiver is behind another eligble receiver) offenses. It's annoying to defend multiple motion offenses (like mine). It's annoying to defend Goal Line runs the entire game. None of the items listed above is a glitch. They can all be defended with careful planning, thought, creativity, and a heavy dose of X's and O's (which is why many play the game).

I am just like you guys, I alos hate to play any games online with players that I do not know. 8-10 times you get someone who all they do is glitch or cheese on you. The only way to fix this is to find a way to ban cheesers and glitchers, and only let them play themselves...Gitcher vs. Glitcher, Cheeser vs. Cheeser.

This what I am doing to help this situation.

The ECMFL is a league on leaguedaddy and is in its' third season right now. To enhance the Madden experience and play straight games with no cheese and glitching, we have started a Ladder League for anyone to join.If you cheese or glitch you will be removed with no hesitation. This will help us create a communitiy of straight players and hopefully, with alot of hard work from everyone allow us to play straight simmulation type games with one another. Just pull from the player pool from this ladder. If will also allow our ranking on this ladder to reflect how good we really are, not how well we cheat to get ranked.
