Alright, I'm new here, but after buying '07, I had to find somewhere to voice my opinion. Admittedly, there are other issues directly tied to the gameplay, etc. that would make the game more enjoyable, but I'm the neurotic type that gets irritated the most by the smallest things, which brings me to my wish list.

1. Updated and more realistic historical teams- like is stated in another thread, a number of teams don't have realistic ratings for the historical players and some completely neglect key players from the teams altogether.
Also, the overall team ratings need to be improved. Some teams that won the National Championship have an overall rating of B- or even C+, while the 1997 Missouri and 1998 Michigan State teams are both A+. The fact that these teams are even here is a joke, let alone them being rated that high.

2.) Bring back the "Classic Matchups" and scenario mode- I know I'm probably in the minority here on this board, but I really love these different modes because it offers a change of pace. And don't just cop out and use the exact same Classic Matchups from '04 and '05. There are at least three games I can think of from the 2005 season that would make great scenarios in this mode (USC-ND, USC-Fresno, USC-UT)
If added, it could also be tweaked a little bit to offer the option of playing as either team. Therefore, you would have the option of either seeing if you can match the performance of the greats or you could attempt to rewrite the history of your favorite school.

3.)More Options to Create-a-school and Create-a-player- This one speaks for itself. MORE OPTIONS, better generic team logos, more jersey/helmet styles, school/mascot names on front of jersey/helmet, different team name/jersey number fonts, more equipment options(shoulder pad size/style, neck rolls)
It shouldn't be difficult to put in a much better array of generic team logos(dont remember the last football team I saw represented by a claw hammer) or uniform styles at least.

4.Playoffs- Personally I prefer the bowl system, but I dont know why this couldn't be a post-season option. I assume it has something to do with the game being licensed by the NCAA and them not wanting to do anything that could be perceived as endorsing a playoff even in the slightest, but a playoff postseason was available on older versions wasn't it? I just don't really know why this couldn't be at least an option left up to the gamer.

That's it for my wishlist. My main motivation with these is that I really enjoy creating my old high school team and conference and my old D3 college and conference and playing various games and sometimes dynasties with them. Being able to do that or play the Classic matchups provides a nice change of pace to the game.
Also, like I said it's the smallest things that really irk me and a lot of these are small things that wouldn't be difficult to update. To me, it makes EA look extremely lazy. They just take the easy way out and recycle the same list of historic teams from four years ago that includes teams unlocked from playing classic scenarios that have no business being a "historic team"(i.e. '97 Mizzou and '98 MSU). Same goes for the creat-a-school and player options, exactly the same old recycled options from four years ago. I can only hope that they make these changes for '08

Welcome Holland,

Trust me those little things really irk me as well.

If I may add to your points:

1. I love the University of Hawaii and I have a lot of hopes for this year.. but should their rankings be as good or better than some of the historically great teams? NO WAY! This looks to me like in testing the current teams were underperforming so EA cranked up their abilities, its a simple fix rather than reprograming the game.

2. Classic matchups was ok, I loved scenario mode. Down by 20 with 2 minutes to go can you win the game?

3. Personally the Logos in this game SUCK they are the worst, they are so cartoonish and unuseful, I'd be embarassed to wear the majority of them. Instead why can't EA by the rights to some generic logos that real teams use (and most high school teams use)?

4. This is going to be a little tougher I know a while back (O5 or 04?) it was thought that EA was going to put in a tear the goalpost scenario ....well RUMOR has it that EA's Lawywers or the NCAA nixed it saying that it promoted a dangerous activity. I'm not sure the NCAA wants people having playoff mode for D1 so they can see the advantages (and disadvantages of the system) the bowl system in my opinion is underatted especially for smaller schools who could never get the pub.. (Boise,Louisville a few years ago,Houston) . On the other hand a playoff format for the D1aa schools should be easy enough to implement.

In summary. I agree I love the D2 and D3, I would much rather have a sampling of these teams (the playoff contenders?) than Pistol Pete Mascot teams...even if they are generic(all players are 40 skills). Or at least have the ability to create these teams, The NCAA should be able to grant the rights to the D2 or D3 logos of member schools.
