Short coverage defenses

I notice that I have really only one short yardage coverage and I think it's called Man Flats and I believe it's in Nickel formation. I play with the Giants btw. I want a short pass coverage defense. I pick Cover 3 and I notice my D-backs play well past the first down line. I want something to cover the first down or less.

Look for a defense that has Linebackers in a hook zone. A hook zone is the yellow zone. Also if you click on your safety and tap the right analog controller to the side he will zone to the flat. He will run directly to the flat when the ball is hiked covering the short area to that side. Use the zone to the side of the field that he likes to throw to. Usually the wide side.
