Hey guys and girls, quick question for ya.

During 3rd and 4th downs I like to set up my D and off the snap drop into a Pass commit, it's about a 50/50 chance that it works...i'm seeing more and more now that when i push R stick up and give it some pressure (feel a click.) that my secondary "might" go into pass commit or "might" go into run commit.

As we all know Run commit against a 3 or 4 wide reciver set running streaks means 6 for the other team.

Should I not press up with pressure, is there another way with the xbox360 controls to apply Pass/Run Commit? Or could it be that i just broke my stick...?

Any thoughts would be helpfull.. and thanks.

I give it a quick flick. Any harder and it seems to register as a hitstick and my player bends over and starts looking like he had a combination of a bad burrito and exlax for breakfast...

intresting.. i'll have to lab this a bit tonight with two different sticks to see if a quick flick with no pressure will give me the desired commit...

As it stands now if i just use a quick flick with no pressure I won't get a pass or run commit... but i feel you about the miss timed hit stick... when it happens it sucks.

yeah i just do a quick flip after the snap, timing is critical. I think it's more about the timing after the snap than the way you go about moving the stick.

Hold down left trigger while you call the commit.

Hold down left trigger while you call the commit.

After working with this for a bit for the past few days, the quick flick does seem to be much more reliable.

Haven't tried the hold the left trigger while calling... I'll see what's up with that later tonight.

Thanks for the imput.

wassup errbody, although i've been a playing madden for a while, i just started to get back into it lately on the 360, what exactly is the run/pass commit? how does it help? when is it best to use?

On Run plays, well you have the advantage with faster pursuit of ball carrier.

However if it is a pass then you will be out of position with a run commit.

Vice versa if you call a pass commit.

Holding down left trigger doesnt help, you can still hitstick yourself out of a play.

A very slight up or down movement on the right stick seems to work best.

I never knew about the pass or run commit before i read this post but i definitely want to make it part of my game now. i just havea question about it. ok so based on what i'm reading, my understanding is that a flick down is run commit and a flick up is pass commit? am I right?

if your opponent does play action and you are on a blitz use the pass commit button. Instead of hitting the runner, the defenders will go straight to the qb and sack him EVERY TIME
