How do you stop Michael Vick?

I played a guy last week who picked the Falcons and I picked my Saints. I busted him up 45 to 21, but there was something that just rubbed me the wrong way.

This cat constantly runs around with Vick and throws passes, fair enough, that's what Vick can bring to the table. After one minute, it was obvious he didn't know too much and he was definitely one dimensional so I started bringing the Dime Flats blitz. CBs from both sides and I make my defensive lineman crash left or right and I take my MIKE LBer and run through one of the gaps to put pressure on him down the middle and force him to my faster defensive backs...so far so good.

I got this guy running for his life BACKWARDs and he throws the pass while running full speed backwards and the pass is accurate to Alge Crumbler (and this happened a few times). I got my fair share or sacks (about 8 on him), but this just seems ridiculous. No QB can run backwards 20+ yards (yes that's what made it bad, it was 20 yards backwards, sometimes more, and yet his pass is still money???) Do you guys have any suggestions? It's hard to pick the DB because the camera starts going nuts as the QB starts running backwards. I don't have a problem with sideline to sideline running, but when you're running backwards with 3 people blitzing you, and you're tossing the ball behind your head for 30 yards...something seems fishy....

i played a "live opponent" game a few weeks ago. I join the game, it's in this kids franchise, he's the falcons, luckily I was the Panthers. Anyway, he has 4 created players, with names ranging from "F*** YOU" to "S*ck A D***", nice huh? Anyway the kid did the same thing, ran sideline to sideline or straight back and would usually throw the ball the opposite way he was running. A few times while running to the left he would throw straight across the field to Dunn or something. So same situation More times than not, he couldn't get away from the blitzing db's or nb's. But the few times he did, I would user one of the safetys and kind of keep him off the screen downfield, b/c most of the time he tried to throw to a guy off the screen. since it was such a long throw, i would have time to get close and either hit stick the reciever or just be there to stop a big gain. he did bust a few runs with vick for 15 or 20, but long story short, the kid ended up quiting at the end of the 3rd quarter b/c i was winning 21-14 and he just fumbled with vick. it's aggrevating and challenging, but thats how i did it. most of the guys who play that way, do more harm than good running all over with vick.

Shift your #1 Corner into the Nickelback spot, then blitz him. The fastest guy on your team can put the heat on him. Then spy oppisite side of field with the safety.

Nice tries, but none of those will work long term. Read my Vick Stopper post. Guaranteed to work if executed properly.

Dam i think i played this guy like a week ago he was doing the samething to me.He would snap the ball & hit turbo running backward(its Mike Vick your not going to catch him) But he would have a screen set up on the oppsite side.The throws he made was to acc for mike vick but what got me was that he was like 30 BLS.Almost like this guy was superman,i could not beat this guy.
