My friend uses the giants and when he needs a 1st down he normally goes to tiki barber in the in the flats. now, i normally play man but the jaguars linebackers cant seem to handle him. should i assign two men in the flats and blitz the linebackers.
Also, he really abuses Jeremy Shockey
i was thinking of auto assigning my saftey (donovan darious) on him
or would that mess my whole defense up?
IDEAS AND COMMENTS WOULD BE THANKFUL

you could play a cover 2 or cover 3 zone out of nickel 1-5-5 or 2-4-5 and have one of your OLBs who is rushing the QB cover shockey in man coverage

46 safe zone..flip it..hot the RE to flat or purple..manually control the MLB, u can cover the TE on the strong side as well as defend the flat with 1 player, provided....provided you are getting pressure..not mad heat..but pressure from you remaining 3 linemen...also..hot blitz the ROLB behind the weak DT once in a while..now since this is a zone defense u can man up certain players in various situations...ok, this is not an every play scheme..use this as apart of a defensive rotation every baller should have.

Well I played this guy who was pretty good. He used V. Davis. The first play from scrimmage he hit me with playaction touchdown down the middle for six. He gave me fits all game untill about the fourth quater. I went to nickle on his 2 wide sets and played man to man defense but flipped it so my nickle back on was man to man on Davis. It slowed him down a little then I put my # 2 corner in the nickle back spot and that slowed him up more to where he was struggling to get open. Then he got to the redzone and I put my #1 cb on him and lock him up and should have gotten a pick. This strategy should shut down shockey because I used the jags so we have the same defensive personal. Now if he comes out in 3 wides and a TE this a little differen't. The problem with this is he will have a line backer on his slot reciever which is I think Santanio Holmes or Toomer depending on how he plays. That would be a big mis match. You could counter with a dime defense but then you would be weak against the run. So it a chess match. :)
But if he runs a lot of 2 wide sets try running nickle and fliping it( I think man lock has to be off not sure tho) and get some more speed out on that TE and lock him up With mathis. LOL Jvile.
Hope this helps
